This was my first rose out this year . Beautiful to see & a delight to smell ,also a very healthy cultivar. This is a new plant , a standard in my new garden. I grew this rose ,in bush form , for many years (over 30 ) in my previous garden ,so I know that I can rely on it .

“If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for wealth and power, but for the passionate sense of the potential, for the eye which, ever young and ardent, sees the possible. Pleasure disappoints, possibility never. And what wine is so sparkling, what so fragrant, what so intoxicating, as possibility!”
― Søren Kierkegaard, Either/Or: A Fragment of Life

Royal Star Magnolia
An early bloomer with large, fragrant, white, double flowers appearing before the foliage emerges in spring. A springtime thriller that will add a nice touch to the landscape as the seasons progress. Useful as an open-branched, multi-trunked large shrub or as a small specimen tree. Excellent cold and heat tolerance for a magnolia. Deciduous.

Wild garlic at its peak. I like the aroma, but I know others don't - and I have to keep an eye on our little dog for whom it's bad news!
A woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae. There are over three hundred species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing, or trailing, with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwestern Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Roses have acquired cultural significance in many societies. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height. Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses. 18777
