Art Week Gallery Theme

Dec. 12 to Dec. 18 our theme is: --- The Changing World ---

For GOT fans, you will recognize Dracarus as the invocation for the dragon to spew some fire. For MM group, Four Elements theme.

This is a seedling of a French bean, one of many which are stirring in the greenhouse.

HMM to one and all! :-)

As a quiet little seedling

Lay within its darksome bed,

To itself it fell a–talking,

And this is what it said:

“I am not so very robust,

But I‘ll do the best I can;”

And the seedling from that moment

Its work of life began.

So it pushed a little leaflet

Up into the light of day,

To examine the surroundings

And show the rest the way.

The leaflet liked the prospect,

So it called its brother, Stem;

Then two other leaflets heard it,

And quickly followed them.

To be sure, the haste and hurry

Made the seedling sweat and pant;

But almost before it knew it

It found itself a plant.

The sunshine poured upon it,

And the clouds they gave a shower;

And the little plant kept growing

Till it found itself a flower.

I had fun with the theme from Macro Mondays today

I took a triple exposure of water and fire

Two from the waterfaucet in the kitchen to make the frame and one from my fav candle

Voila, magic happens

😂😊😁

Happy Macro Mondays everyone 💖

Here is a pea plant only 3weeks old after the rain (water) basking in the sun (fire) with its roots in the soil (earth) with air all around it .

Plants do not survive without water, without land ..."Element" the theme of the week. Thank you for your comments and faves, HMM!

This is my idea to the element water - inspired by the book from Jerome K. Jerome "Three Men in a Boat: To Say Nothing of the Dog"

SUNSET - Pôr-do-sol no Arpoador

Assistir ao pôr-do-sol no Arpoador é programa obrigatório no Rio de Janeiro, mesmo que o Sol não apareça para se pôr!

Watching the sunset at Arpoador is mandatory in Rio de Janeiro, even if the sun does not show up!

I have some photos that depict the moment of sunset in different cities of Brazil. From Arpoador you can see the sun set on Morro Dois Irmãos, this is the sunset point in Brazil

Black and Amazonas RIVER

Natural Phenomenon

The Water Meeting

The Meeting of Waters is a phenomenon that happens at the confluence between the Negro river, of black water, and the river Solimões (that from there receives the name Amazon River), of muddy water, where the waters of the two rivers run side to without mixing for an extension of more than 6 km. It is one of the main tourist attractions of the city of Manaus.

Well I certainly won't ever be a successful arsonist, certainly not with the trouble I had with setting anything alight. I had this great idea of dousing some compost with vodka and setting it alight, except it wouldn't light. In the end I had to resort to setting bits of newspaper on fire (discovering that they don’t stay alight for very long) and came away smelling like a bonfire.

Posting late this Bank Holiday Monday as we've just returned from visiting my son in Brighton, having lost his mobile phone - the joys of having kids at Uni!

HMM!
