The newly formed Senior Wrestling League competition between Aspull Warriors and City of Manchester Wrestling Club, was held at the Aspull on Saturday Saturday 21 Jan 2023.
Following 10 exciting and tough matches City of Manchester gained the win.
Aspull Warriors 19 City of Manchester 26
This event is part of the two pilot leagues which were launching in September 22.
This could be a huge step for the development of wrestling in this country. If successful with our pilot season this could lead to the launch of a nationwide league launching in every region of the UK by the end of 2023.

De nuevo en Llafranc disfrutando del rutilante escenario que forma la terraza de Casamar en verano. En esta ocasión optamos por el menú degustación, una novedad que hasta hace un año no existía y que se reveló como un acierto pleno. Un menú sólido, coherente y muy completo, en la línea de calidad y definición habituales de esta casa. Una gozada.
En la fotografía: salteado de verduras “ECO” con langostinos, hierbas y tinta. Se anunciaban sepietas en el menú pero se habían acabado y las sustituyeron –previo aviso- por unos estupendos langostinos pero se quedaron cortos ante el excepcional sabor de unas verduritas impecables. El fondo del plato estaba pintado con tinta y, aunque su impacto era más visual que sápido, acabó aportando no poco sabor marino. Añoramos las sepietas anunciadas pero la alternativa estuvo fenomenal.
Lo mejor: la calidad del conjunto, la terraza
Lo peor: el sumiller debería ser más comunicativo y participativo

Ross Craig (1926-2012) was a local historian born in Stockton and dedicated much of his life promoting and conserving the history of Stockton, NSW. He possessed a wealth of knowledge about the suburb and was a founding member of the Stockton Historical Society and co-editor of its magazine. Pat Craig supported her husband’s passion for history, and together they made a great contribution to the Stockton and Newcastle communities. We thank the Craig Family and Stockton Historical Society who have kindly given Cultural Collections at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, access to the collection and allowed us to publish the images. Thanks also to Vera Deacon for her liaison in attaining this important collection.

These tin roofed farmhouses form a large part of my memory of the Irish countryside. There were a huge amount of them around in my childhood, not so many of them now in the second decade of the 21st century. Of course corrugated roofs would have been much cheaper than slate and must have been much easier to manage than thatch so I wonder if they represent a transition from the traditional thatch to modern slate ones. Back then I didn’t concern myself with these socio-economic questions I just wondered how they could hear themselves above the sound of a heavy Irish rain beating down on their iron roof. Maybe they used sign language.
Either way, in the last 30 years or so the owners felt it wiser to move into a brand new house next door, making sure it looked like it came straight out of 'Bungalow Bliss' a book of ideas and designs for the amateur self-builder from the 1970’s. As is now typical of so many houses out here in the boonies they just look like a copy and paste from this book of anondyne architecture, bland, boring and totally lacking in aesthetics.
In fairness It doesn't look like the corrugated roof was the issue for them. Like most houses up until the 60's or so, foundations were rare, with walls placed straight down on compacted earth. The two big cracks on the right and the one on the left are testament to that. An inbuilt flaw that took decades to come to fruition, leaving a little Titanic out here in the heart of the boglands of Ireland.
Los objetos que forman parte de esta composición pertenecían a mi abuela materna, dentro de esa caja de madera guardaba fotos antiguas de mis familiares, cartas antiguas y dinero en este caso el Colón la moneda nacional de El Salvador en aquel entonces. Cuando encontré estos objetos mi madre me relato experiencias de esa época, como era la vida, el clima, las personas, etc. Las personas que aparecen en esas fotografías son mis tíos.
Probé distintas formas para acomodar la composición, pero la manera que más me gustó fue en la decidí tomar la foto.
Coloque una cobija blanca para que fuera mi fondo, así este tendría textura, ya que se notan arrugas de la tela. La caja de madera ronda unos 50 años, según me cuenta mi mama ese "mini baúl de fotos" lo hizo mi tío cuando tenía alrededor de 17 años, estaba aprendiendo carpintería y esa fue su primera creación que mi abuela guardo con mucho amor. En cuanto a las fotografías, tienen alrededor de 40 años de haber sido reveladas.
Me gustó muchísimo hacer este reto porque así conocí un poco más sobre mi abuela. Además de, adquirir nuevos conocimientos fotográficos y ponerlos en práctica.
Finalmente, se hizo uso del programa de edición Adobe Photoshop 2021 para la fotografía con filtro sepia, así mismo cumpliendo con todos los aspectos requeridos para la realización de este proyecto.
