Dark-eyed juncos come in several different color forms, depending on where in the United States they live. Here in the Driftless Region, the standard color form for dark-eyed juncos is the slate-colored junco. These birds are basically all dark gray above and white below. Oregon juncos inhabit the far west, from California to Washington and east to Montana. They have a black head and bib with a brown back and pink sides. This beautiful Oregon junco has wandered a long way from home to show up at Lake Meyer Park this winter!

Tulips (Tulipa) form a genus of spring-blooming perennial herbaceous bulbiferous geophytes (having bulbs as storage organs). The flowers are usually large, showy and brightly colored, generally red, pink, yellow, or white (usually in warm colors). They often have a different colored blotch at the base of the tepals (petals and sepals, collectively), internally. Tulips originally were found in a band stretching from Southern Europe to Central Asia, but since the seventeenth century have become widely naturalised and cultivated. Flowering in the spring, they become dormant in the summer once the flowers and leaves die back, emerging above ground as a shoot from the underground bulb in early spring. The tulip's flowers are usually large and are actinomorphic (radially symmetric) and hermaphrodite (contain both male (androecium) and female (gynoecium) characteristics), generally erect, or more rarely pendulous, and are arranged more usually as a single terminal flower, or when pluriflor as two to three (e.g. Tulipa turkestanica), but up to four, flowers on the end of a floriferous stem (scape), which is single arising from amongst the basal leaf rosette. 11717
Der Formenvielfalt des Sandsteins sind im Elbsandsteingebirge (fast) keine Grenzen gesetzt. Vergleichsweise weich und und von der Erosion abgerundet zeigen sich die Felsen der vorderen Torsteinkette der Schrammsteine rund um die Schrammtürme - Sandsteinknubbel fand ich als Beschreibung ganz passen, oder?

- Arquitecto.- Eduardo Rodriguez - Losada. También, es autor de " Chalet " Escudero ( comentario 1 ) y de otros edificios Coruñeses.
- Datación.- 1910 - 1919.
- Estilo.- Ecléctico con abundantes elementos Modernístas.
- El dilatado periodo de ejecución del proyecto determinó una cierta heterogeneidad en el edificio. En principio, se construyó para viviendas; luego se añadió una parte para oficinas.
En la decoración, cabe destacar las grandes columnas, los techos de estilo Francés y las galerías, tan típicas de A Coruña.

Tropaeolum commonly known as nasturtium literally "nose-twister" or "nose-tweaker" or nasturtian, is a genus of roughly 80 species of annual and perennial herbaceous flowering plants. [...].
Plants in this genus have showy, often intensely bright flowers, and rounded, peltate (shield-shaped) leaves with the petiole in the centre. The flowers are bisexual and zygomorphic, with five petals, a superior three-carpelled ovary, and a funnel-shaped nectar spur at the back, formed by modification of one of the five sepals. Wikipedia

The fire lily bears large, bright orange-red flowers that create a firework display in the garden. Therefore, it's not surprising that it is a highly sought-after garden plant.
But this well-known lily is unfortunately rarely offered because propagation is relatively time-consuming. The brood buds that form in the leaf axils only develop into flowering bulbs after several years.
Ha, and I have it in my garden! 😀
The fire lily grows wild in the foothills of the Alps and from South Tyrol to the Pyrenees.
Lilium bulbiferum is classified as endangered on the German Red List. It is therefore of particular ecological value.

Die Feuerlilie trägt große, leuchtend orange-rote Blüten, die ein Feuerwerk im Garten entfachen. Deshalb ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass sie als Gartenpflanze sehr begehrt ist.
Aber diese altbekannte Lilie wird leider nur äußerst selten angeboten, da sich ihre Vermehrung als relativ langwierig gestaltet. Denn die sich in den Blattachseln bildenden Brutknospen wachsen erst nach einigen Jahren zu blühfähigen Zwiebeln heran.
Ha, und ich habe sie im Garten! 😀
Die Feuerlilie kommt als Wildpflanze in den Voralpen und von Südtirol bis zu den Pyrenäen vor.
Lilium bulbiferum ist auf der Roten Liste für Deutschland als gefährdet eingestuft. Sie ist deshalb ökologisch besonders wertvoll.
The Horizontal Falls are formed from a break in-between the McLarty Ranges reaching up to 25m in width. The natural phenomenon is created as seawater builds up faster on one side of the gaps than the other, creating a waterfall up to 5m high. Ice forms along seeps and seasonal waterfalls along cliffs in the Absaroka Mountains. This impressive frozen falls occurs on a cliff along the North Fork Canyon Road in Shoshone National Forest. Rocks that make up the cliff are volcaniclastic rocks that belong to the Eocene Absaroka Volcanics Supergroup.
Taken back in May, and to be honest, I've no idea as to what it was, not a clue, but the points of light were extremely tiny. Definitely a macro, just wish I could remember 'a macro of what'!

MLC Centre architecture cannot be overlooked. With elegantly contoured, stark white concrete, white quartz and glass, the façade presents itself as a handsomely moulded sculpture.
Harry Seidler AC QBE is a luminary of Australian architecture. Widely considered as the first architect to fully express the Bauhaus aesthetic here. The MLC Centre remains one of his most definitive works on the Sydney Skyline.
244m to antenna and 227m to roof. The MLC Centre was Sydney’s tallest building in Sydney from 1977 to 1992. It is currently the fifth tallest building behind the Meriton World Tower (230m), Deutsche Bank Place (240m), Citigroup Centre (243m) and Chifley Tower (244m). The tallest structure in Sydney is still the Sydney Tower at 309m.
Buckfast Abbey forms part of an active Benedictine monastery at Buckfast, near Buckfastleigh, Devon. Buckfast has been home to an abbey since 1018. The first Benedictine abbey was followed by a Savignac (later Cistercian) abbey constructed on the site of the current abbey in 1134. The monastery was surrendered for dissolution in 1539, with the monastic buildings stripped and left as ruins, before being finally demolished. The former abbey site was used as a quarry, and later became home to a Gothic mansion house.
In 1882 the site was purchased by a group of French Benedictine monks, who refounded a monastery on the site, dedicated to Saint Mary. New monastic buildings and a temporary church were constructed incorporating the existing Gothic house. Work on a new abbey church, which was constructed mostly on the footprint of the former Cistercian abbey, started in 1907. The church was consecrated in 1932 but not completed until 1938.
Buckfast was formally reinstated as an Abbey in 1902, and the first abbot of the new institution, Boniface Natter, was blessed in 1903. The abbey continues to operate as a Benedictine foundation today.

La Comarca del Jiloca es una comarca de Aragón (España), en el noroeste de la provincia de Teruel, situada en el Sistema Ibérico, alrededor del tramo medio del río Jiloca, del que recibe su nombre.
