A cape on the north coast of Taiwan between Taipei and Keelung.
The cape, known as the Yehliu Promontory, forms part of the Taliao Miocene Formation. It stretches approximately 1,700 meters into the ocean and was formed as geological forces pushed Datun Mountain (大屯山) out of the sea.
This image forms part of the digitised photographs of the Ross and Pat Craig Collection. Ross Craig (1926-2012) was a local historian born in Stockton and dedicated much of his life promoting and conserving the history of Stockton, NSW. He possessed a wealth of knowledge about the suburb and was a founding member of the Stockton Historical Society and co-editor of its magazine. Pat Craig supported her husband’s passion for history, and together they made a great contribution to the Stockton and Newcastle communities. We thank the Craig Family and Stockton Historical Society who have kindly given Cultural Collections at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, access to the collection and allowed us to publish the images. Thanks also to Vera Deacon for her liaison in attaining this important collection.

Exposición permanente
Forma la colección permanente un numeroso conjunto de piezas (más de siete mil, sin contar libros, documentos y fotografías), de lo que se expone aproximadamente un cincuenta por ciento, que se agrupa en cuatro grandes áreas: Biología marina, Carpintería de ribera, Pesca tradicional e Historia de la navegación. Hagamos una breve descripción de sus contenidos.
Biología marina
El área de Biología marina sirve como una introducción al medio marino, y está formada por una amplia muestra de flora y fauna marinas, que abarca desde los tiempos prehistóricos (representados por numerosos especímenes fósiles), hasta los peces vivos que evolucionan en unos pequeños acuarios. Hay una espléndida colección de malacología, con bellos ejemplares que sorprenden por su brillo y colorido, y también crustáceos, corales, esponjas, aves que habitan los acantilados,..
Carpintería de ribera
La Carpintería de ribera puede considerarse uno de los puntos fuertes del Museo, pues hace honor a la importancia secular que tuvo en Luanco, donde se construyeron innumerables embarcaciones para todos los puertos del Cantábrico. Se ubica en la nave central del Museo, donde se ha reconstruido el casetón de un astillero, formado con elementos auténticos de antiguos talleres: herramientas, plantillas, gálibos, vagras, piezas de madera.
Pesca tradicional
El área de Pesca tradicionalestá próxima a la de Carpintería de ribera, compartiendo con ella la nave central, ya que entre ambas existe una obvia relación de complementariedad. Conforma esta sección una gran variedad de artes y aparejos de pesca -redes de abareque, volanta, palangres, caceas, cales, nasas, cedazos, trueles, fisgas, poteras,...-, clasificadas según las especies a capturar, todas del entorno del Mar Cantábrico -bonito, congrio, lubina, xarda, palometa, merluza, besugo, pulpo, angula...
Historia de la navegación
La sección de Historia de la navegación ocupa la segunda planta y en ella se hace un recorrido por la evolución de la tipología de los buques, con la exhibición de casi un centenar de maquetas elaboradas con todo detalle. Desde la remota Antigüedad hasta la actualidad, se pueden ver barcos egipcios, fenicios, griegos, romanos, vikingos, que dan paso al desarrollo de la vela con la carabela portuguesa, el galeón español, los espectaculares navíos de gran aparejo y los rápidos clipers, para desembocar en los barcos de vapor y después en los de motor.

Formed by ice, water, and scouring wind, the park is an expansive open landscape. The Ashburton lakes form a central hub and the braided waters of the Rangitata and the Rakaia rivers are the southern and northern boundaries.
The headwaters of both rivers are notable landscapes – the upper Rangitata featured as the fortress of Edoras in the Lord of the Rings film. Other distinctive features are kettleholes (depressions), found largely in the eastern South Island high country.
The site of the new Sixth Form “College” adjacent to Morrison’s. Interserve very Welsh Language Act compliant with their entrance control hut being both “Porthdy” and “Gatehouse”.

The scythe of Saturn on his day of Saturday is coming on line as a fine sign and given enough goodly time I might find the rightly rhyme.

Coffee has found the best of me and I am brim full of excellent energy.
Spring has finally flouncingly sprung and I am on the entry level rung to marvels everywhere even as I am gloriously among stars there are journeys forward with prudential care.
The Phoenix fire of the ruby rich roasting of the bean has released the flow of inspirational ink within my form and so much waits without patience to be heard and seen now the sacrosanct veil is rent and the sublunary parchment torn.

Trinity House was formed by Royal Charter under Henry VIII in 1514, the organisation tasked with improving the safety of Britain’s waterways. For 500 years Trinity House has tirelessly served the mariner and to honour the impressive anniversary of this respected organisation a commemorative £2 coin is now available struck to Brilliant Uncirculated standard.
The striking reverse features a design by Joe Whitlock Blundell, Production Director of The Folio Society, created with the help of David Eccles, a retired illustrator and printer, that captures the spirit of Trinity House with that enduring symbol of the seas – the lighthouse.

As part of the Year 12 Enrichment Programme, Year 12 were taken to Tolmers Scout Camp and Activity Centre in Hertfordshire for a team building day. There were a number of activities including raft building and archery.

Icicles hanging from our second-storey eaves troughs forming like large transparent carrots. Never seen icicles with these kinds of ridges and ripples in them.
With the milder sunny weather, they are in the process of melting. A few drops have been captured in mid-air as they fall to the roof of the covered front porch.

Foto-Buddies Project 52, Week#9: Elements of Design--Form
Poly is extra special because he's Mr. Sparks' Christmas gift to me. I hate that I can't play with him as much because the compatible film is not available in the Philippines and it's pretty expensive too. Last weekend, I tried using him only to find out that the film cartridge has expired. Now I only have one unexpired film cartridge left. :(
I've also made this shot my entry to the Foto-Buddies Project 52 Week #8 Assignment on Form.
Students enrolled in the “Improvisational Forms” dance course at Wesleyan University performed May 6 and May 8 at various locations, and on objects, around campus. The class is designed to explore various approaches to dance improvisation. Students learn to expand movement vocabulary, increase compositional awareness, develop their creative thinking and observational skills, and sharpen their performance presence.The class is taught by Susan Lourie, adjunct professor of dance.
