Entombed es una banda de metal sueca formada en 1987 bajo el nombre de Nihilist.
Aunque al principio de su carrera fue pionera (junto a otras bandas como Carnage, Dismember, Edge Of Sanity o Unleashed) del death metal escandinavo (denominado como "sonido Estocolmo"), a principios de los años 1990 su sonido se amplió para incluir hardcore punk y otras influencias. La edición de su álbum "Wolverine blues" supuso el nacimiento de un nuevo estilo musical que aunaba las voces guturales del death metal más clásico con ritmos más pegadizos y rockeros, dando así lugar al llamado "death n' roll".
Tras la marcha de su batería y uno de sus principales compositores, Nicke Andersson, el cual decidió probar suerte en solitario con su nueva banda The Hellacopters, en este caso cambiando incluso de instrumento y pasando ser cantante y guitarrista en su nuevo proyecto musical (de estilo punk-rock, alejándose bastante de su sonido con Entombed), la prolífica y exitosa carrera del combo sueco recibió un duro revés a nivel de ventas, debido a una época en la que experimentaron con sonidos más rockeros y alternativos, alejándose del metal más duro que venían realizando, siendo ejemplo de aquello el álbum "Same Difference".Por entonces también otro de sus miembros, Uffe Cederlund, decidió probar suerte en solitario con Haystack, otro proyecto similar a los Hellacopters de su ex compañero Andersson, si bien no tuvo el mismo éxito comercial.
Tras varios cambios de formación, los suecos volvieron a la senda que tantos éxitos les había dado antaño con un gran disco llamado "Morning star" (confirmando un endurecimiento de su sonido que ya se intuía después del álbum anterior, convenientemente llamado "Uprising" para apuntar a la resurrección que su carrera debía experimentar de nuevo a partir de él), convirtiéndose canciones como "I for an eye" rápidamente en parte esencial de sus shows en directo. Los trabajos más recientes de la banda, ya como cuarteto, el EP When in Sodom y el recientemente editado CD "Serpent saints" no hacen sino confirmar una vuelta al death metal con tintes rockeros del que siempre han sido grupo bandera.

Le puy de Dôme est un dôme de lave trachytique situé dans le Massif central, à une quinzaine de kilomètres de Clermont-Ferrand ; il a donné son nom au département du Puy-de-Dôme. Âgé d'environ 11 000 ans, c'est un des volcans les plus jeunes de la chaîne des Puys. Il est constitué de deux blocs de trachyte emboîtés, fruits de deux éruptions successives espacées de quelques centaines d'années.
Our Lady Help of Christians RC at Kitt's Green, in the Tile Cross area of Birmingham is a stunning late 1960s Catholic church by Richard Gilbert Scott and very inventive, on a T-shaped plan with a ribbed roof that curve upwards, rising to form a central tower over the core of the building. Not everyone will find this attractive, but I actually find it all the more remarkable for it.
Copious quantities of stained glass is visible in the windows and weirdly shaped apertures, but alas I was out of luck as it was all locked up. There was a notice directing people wishing access to the church to the priest's house behind it, but I could tell my efforts were in vain as my appeal to look inside was met with a puzzled frown and a suggestion that I come back for mass the following morning. He was perhaps busy which is fair enough, but for me living nearly 20 miles away returning wasn't so simple.
I wasn't overly keen on looking around after a service, the timings didn't suit my trains and it would be likely busy, so when I saw 'confessions' listed 11-12 Saturday mornings thought that might be a better bet. Turned up to find the church was open but with a few people (inc. the priest I'd met before, who I didn't think would be overly keen to see me loitering again) sitting or kneeling quietly inside, I realised it was now exposition of the Blessed Sacrament instead. A very awkward time to look around, I'd have to content myself with quietly keeping out of the way in the chapels at the back and get some pics of their windows at least, but this wasn't enough for one member of the flock who noticed me and glared in a 'How dare you enter our church!' kind of way! I retreated out of sight into the baptistery to sit and look at a fine abstract window, but he decided to come and stand staring aggressively opposite me and clearly wanted to start something, but the atmosphere of awed silence prevented this and he left, but he'd made his point, I knew I was not welcome in this church.
I left shortly afterwards myself feeling frustrated (for the second time, not having been able to view or record the full interior) and deeply uncomfortable. I was hoping to bump meet my would-be assailant outside, having mentally prepared some suitable Biblical quotes about Christian behaviour since he displayed so little of it, but it was most likely just an all too common case of being judged guilty of whatever before proven innocent.
So to summarise, this is one of the most remarkable modern church buildings I've seen, but from my experiences also just about the most unwelcoming I've ever visited. I'm sure, with hindsight, staying after a mass would have been a far better choice after all, reception might have been different (certainly couldn't be worse).
I had no idea what these strange flowers were when I first saw them, but I believe these are the new leaves forming on a shagbark hickory tree.

da es ab einem gewissen Alter völlig uncool ist, sich normal auf eine Bank zu setzen, hat man in diesem Fall gleich mitgedacht. Die sonst übliche Sitzfläche der adoleszenten urbanen Community (Oberkante der Rückenlehne) wurde verdoppelt um häßliche Druckstellen am Hinterteil der Jugend zu minimieren und die Abstellfläche für die Füße wurde auf ein Mindestmaß beschränkt.
Edelstahl sieht zumal schick aus, ist im Gegensatz zu Holz schwer zu vandalisieren und die minimale Oberfläche bietet wenig Angriffsfläche für Graffitti. Wie man sieht, wurde diese Eingenerationenbank wahrscheinlich schon mit dem "red dot design award" geehrt. Chemnitz - die Innovationshauptstadt, hier hat sie dieses Prädikat vollkommen zu Recht verdient. Man stelle sich die Oma vor, die erst die Bank mit dem Taschentuch säubert, und sich dann draufsetzt um ihren Enkel in der Halfpipe zu bewundern.

El Templo de Vesta está ubicado al sur de la Vía Sacra, delante de la Regia. Es uno de los templos más antiguos de Roma. En este templo se custodiaba siempre encendido, so pena de grandes desdichas, el fuego sagrado en honor de Vesta, diosa del Fuego y del Hogar.
El edificio fue objeto de varias reconstrucciones, que conservaron la entrada orientada hacia el este y la forma circular de la planta (inspirada en las cabañas de la Edad del Hierro), la más reciente a la cual pertenecen los restos conservados es de la época de Julia Domna, esposa de Septimio Severo en el 191.
El templo, circular se eleva sobre un podio de unos 15 metros de diámetro, la cella está rodeada por veinte columnas corintias embebidas. El techo era cónico y tenía una abertura para permitir la salida del humo. Dentro de la cella no se encontraba la estatua de culto, sino solo el fuego sagrado. Una cavidad trapezoidal que se abre en el podio y a la que se accedía solo desde la cella parece ser la ubicación del penus Vestae, donde se conservaban los objetos que Eneas trajo de Troya: el Paladio (imagen de madera de Minerva) y las imágenes de los Penates.
Espacios Bioseguros
“Necesitamos tomar medidas preventivas de forma urgente bajo el paradigma del uso de las mejores tecnologías”
Luis de la Fuente Ramírez, presidente de ABQ, presentó Espacios Bioseguros junto al decano del Colegio de Biólogos de la Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid (COBCM), Ángel Fernández Ipar, como “un concepto en el que destacamos una serie de medidas de prevención para la población general por medio de un conjunto de soluciones tecnológicas para prevenir y minimizar los riesgos de contagio en, por ejemplo, espacios interiores, medios de transporte y otros, con el objetivo de controlar los agentes contaminantes de una forma eficaz y sostenible desde el punto de vista medioambiental y económico”. Por otro lado, “los profesionales debemos de controlar de forma eficaz los riesgos de contagio, tanto en las superficies como en el empleo de los materiales de trabajo que utilizamos todos los días”, matizó Ramírez a lo largo de su exposición.
Con motivo del acto de presentación de las Olimpiadas de Biología de la Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid, los responsables de ABQ dieron a conocer los objetivos de la entidad, así como el proyecto Espacios Bioseguros.
De esta manera, ABQ, entidad europea especializada en bioseguridad, “desea llevar a cabo un protocolo de implantación de un certificado de calidad para garantizar el Espacio Bioseguro en las empresas e instituciones con un 80% de éxito en todos los análisis que hagamos a partir de ahora”, indicaron los responsables de la asociación.
Recordemos que “ABQ ha logrado seleccionar, junto a los colegios de biólogos de las distintas Comunidades Autónomas, soluciones eficientes que han sido contrastadas por la NASA”, concluyó Ramírez.
De esta manera, la asociación ABQ participó en las Olimpiadas de Biología de la Comunidad de Madrid, organizadas por el Colegio de Biólogos de la Comunidad de Madrid (COBCM) con el patrocinio de la Consejería de Educación y la colaboración de la Universidad Complutense, Universidad Autónoma y Editorial Santillana.

Riesgos que afectan a todos los espacios públicos donde la gente interacciona físicamente entre sí y la necesidad, por ello, de generar “Espacios Bioseguros” donde estos riesgos sean minimizados.
2º.- Encontrar, evaluar y difundir a la sociedad las mejores técnicas y/o tecnologías disponibles para minimizar dichos riesgos. Dichas técnicas y/o tecnologías una vez encontradas deberán ser evaluadas por los comités científico-técnicos formados expertos de la comunidad científica.

1987 - the divide between the Lower Schools East and West was readily apparent: 'we think the East buildings are pretty drab' 'we Westies don't mix with the Easties' 'the people there aren't very nice to us' 'East smells of disinfectant.' There was a Swiss Expedition to Val D'Herens. HMS Pinafore was performed for 2 nights by the staff. In the Boarding House, lights-out was at 9.15pm for first years and 11.30pm for sixth formers. Prep was from 6.00-8.00pm. The Headmaster Mr Kenningham confessed he'd used corporal punishment in a previous school but thought it a bad thing. The first exchange with Marblehead School in New Hampshire took place. Kent Opera conducted opera workshops. James Jones, John Lockyer, Linda Cookson, Jim Hunt, Elenore Williams, Paul Cheetham were staff leavers. Gary Yates played table tennis for England Cadets. In October a trip was made to Montepulciano in Italy. In exchange, the Italian students had this to say about their stay: 'I don't like early dinner very much.' 'In Italy we work much at School. English pupils have many breaks between lessons, they don't spend their lesson time very well and therefore have to study in the evenings.' 'You have more exams, more subjects, more breaks but less hours in lessons.'

Grey herons are large, striking birds often spotted standing motionless at the water's edge. Having found a suitable location, herons stand and wait patiently for the right moment to stab passing prey with their dagger-like beaks. They also wade through shallow water searching for small fish and amphibians. Herons fly with their head drawn back and feet trailing behind. The wing beats are slow and their curved wings form an m-shape.
