pink buds & blossoms - in the golden late afternoon sun ... temp in the 70's. Saw the first bumblebee(s). Back to rain and 40's today in North Georgia
Our beautiful front tree, which has to be close to 50 years old, is still gifting us with blossoms...
this tree sits proudly on our front lawn... it was here when we bought the house in 1988 and quite large... so now it has be over 45 years old and still gifts us with a beautiful display of pinks!!
A leftover from a walk this past summer. I usually overlook a plant like this, but up close it seems so interesting-especially in this stage with the fruit and petals both visible. (I guess it can be nasty though if ingested and harmful if the sap gets on your skin!)
Golden Gardenia is a species of flowering small tree in the family Rubiaceae, native to Asia. It is a small tree, growing to a height of 2–4 m (6–12 ft) high with a spread of 1–2 m (3–6 ft). It prefers tropical conditions and will not tolerate temperatures below freezing. (Wikipedia)

We came across this lovely tree several times during our travels in Singapore. The bright colour and interesting shape of the flowers attracted my attention each time.
