The time it takes for a monarch butterfly to emerge from its chrysalis can vary depending on the temperature. Generally, the warmer the temperature, the shorter the period. The emergence period can range from 9 to 14 days. During this time, the chrysalis undergoes visible changes in color, gradually darkening. Once the chrysalis darkens, monarch butterflies usually emerge within 48 hours. The magnificent black and orange wings of the butterfly emerge just before it hatches.

My male Pileated Woodpecker came back again to the suet feeder house. He's big and the house is small, but he manages to get on. They are my fav bird, love to see them and hear them. I know he will be back for the suet and I hope I will be sitting on the deck with Bandit when he does. My backyard, Central Bucks PA.
We had a visit from our very happy 9+ months old great granddaughters the other day. Santa brought them scooters. They crawl like the wind blowing in a hurricane and stand up next to furniture. It won't take them long to get the hang of the scooters. Have fun mom trying to keeping an eye on them as they go in different directions. In a couple years, Santa is bringing them drums.
