300th photo here on Flickr. I kinda hoped I could do one a day when I started, but I'm well ahead schedule. I'll try not to be too spammy. A big thank you for everyone who has taken time to look at my photographs, and thank you for comments and faves.

Taz, my Gray Little Fur Baby! Not so little, he is 17lbs. I was outside in the blind shooting the Hummers. I came inside and he was in my chair ( his really ). I had the flash on, it was dark where he was, so I thought I would try taking a shot. I had a hard time focusing because it was so dark. Gray chair and cat. Turned out pretty good I think. What do you think?

Anthidium bee species, sleeping.

This is my best guess on this bird. If anyone disagrees please offer an opinion and correct with proper ID

Another species captured deep in the jungle. Once again getting off the beaten path with Angle Paz the bird whisperer gave us a huge advantage in finding these birds..

These largely arboreal foragers pluck berries, glean bugs from leaves, or perch on branches and stumps. They also bound across the forest floor to catch insect prey.

Swainson’s Thrushes are medium-sized thrushes—slim songbirds with round heads and short, straight bills.

Thanks for coming along for the ride I am enjoying bringing you all the different species I memorialized while in Ecuador.

Leaving a comment is always appreciated. Make it a great rest of the week my friends.

A rainy day here today, so I thought I would have some fun with paints in the kitchen!

To do this I patiently drop watered down paint through a pipette onto a tile.. timing my shutter as it drops on the tile (or trying) One day I might invest in a proper drop kit.. but, I do quite like the results of the messy ones! And it's fun to do! :o)

An interesting and very useful liquid adhesive that becomes very sticky on drying without penetrating most surfaces. Easy to remove, as well.

There's just something about flashing a train at night. With the stillness of last night you could hear the horn of ES44AC 8103 from a few miles away in Elliston as it blew for Cove Hollow Rd. In about 10 minutes you could finally see headlights from around the curve coming from "Shawsville cut". Shawsville cut used to be the site of a tunnel, but was blasted away some years ago. When the nose of the Norfolk and Western heritage unit came into view a warning flash was given, then the main shot was taken as the train rumbles over the Blankenship Rd crossing behind Shawsville Middle School. As the final autoracks of NS 393 eased over the crossing and silence fell again, you could still hear the engines working hard up the mountain a couple miles away.

Just before midnight last night, hopper train NS 811 breaks the silence of the evening in Shawsville. SD70ACC 1818 leads the doubled up hopper train from Norfolk. The night was crazy busy with three westbounds running before this, one lined behind, and a couple eastbounds all after dark and before midnight.

Family: Mustelidae.

With its characteristic black and white-striped face, grey fur and short furry tail, the badger looks like no other UK mammal. Stocky, powerfully-built creatures, they typically weigh 10–12kg, with a body length of about 90cm. This makes them the biggest land predator in the UK. Info: Woodland Trust .

There was a time, long ago, when model railroads were a common "toy" that would appear before Christmas and be put away after the start of the new year. While these were "inter-generational "toys" they seem to be a long-forgotten relic, which is certainly the case for this locomotive and coal tender.

On a very cold and snowy January night, Christiansburg is awakened to the sound of three big Norfolk Southern GE's pulling intermodal NS 29G through town. The train passes by the Cambria Depot, now and book and toy store, as it heads toward its destination of Columbus, Oh.
