Well time for another smoke image. Smoke from an incense stick.

It seems I only have one pair of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds this year and they came a lot later. Bill's Backyard Bird Blind.

It's fun and at the same time very frustrating shooting warblers like this White-eyed Vireo. They move so fast and don't sit very long. But the rewards are worth it. The flash helps big time. Belleplain State Forest, Woodbine, NJ.

Yesterday here was rain on and off. Bill's Backyard Bird Blind was the place to be. The Ruby-throated Hummingbirds were busy. They like the rain. So I got the flash out and had a ball.

i think it has an artdeco look to it,with the orange and black.and shot at a happy, jaunty angle for added effect of falling over.😊x.

The Wood Thrush has one of the most pretty songs. Fort Washington State Park, Fort Washington, PA.

Red-eyed Vireo sitting for a split second for me. Fort Washington State Park, Fort Washington PA.

Female Ruby-throated Hummingbird. It was a stormy day here and it got dark off and on. I got the flash out and played with the Hummers. The flash brought out their beautiful golden colors.I also tried different shutter speeds. This one was at 1/8000. She is on the vermillionaire cuphea or better know as the Firecracker Plant. Bill's Backyard Bird Blind.

Female non-breeding Snow Bunting visiting Bucks County PA. We are the lower end of their non-breeding range. They breed in the high arctic.

Seemed like all the birds were playing hard to get just like this Northern Parula. Old Mine Road, Columbia NJ.

Great Crested Flycatcher striking a nice pose at Tyler State Park, Newtown, PA.

This non-breeding male Scarlet Tanager gave me a good chase to get this shot. It kept to the back of the trees bouncing from branch to branch. They are in the Cardinal family now. Wilson Farm Park Wilson Farm Park Chesterbrook, PA.

Adult Grackle feeding one of it's young. If you notice, they have white tails. They are leucistic. The juvenile has more of a white tail then the adult. What are the odds that I would get a picture of both of them in my backyard together? Bill's Backyard Bird Blind.

Male Common Yellowthroat Warbler also know as the Yellow Bandit. Old Mine Road, Columbia NJ.

It was an off winter for Mushrooms and now I've got them coming up in clusters around our property.

Ichneumonid Wasp, Messatoporus discoidalis was on the table next to me. Bill's Backyard Bird Blind

A Brown Thrasher has been giving me the pleasure of visiting my backyard for a few days. Bill's Backyard Bird Blind.

It was a great day weather wise and lots of birds like this Adult Yellow-throated Warbler singing at Belleplain State Forest, Woodbine, NJ.

I used low power on two speed lights to back light my subject and to illuminate the splashes of water being thrown on to the bottle of Corona.

A juvenile male Rose-breasted Grosbeak stopped by with it's mother and dad for two days. I couldn't get shots of the parents in the tree, just on the platform feeder. Bill's Backyard Bird Blind.

Gold Rim Swallowtail chrysalises can be dark brown, light brown, or green. If the surroundings are dark colors they will make brown chrysalises and if the leaves were green, the chrysalises will be green. They can over winter in the chrysalis which is called diapause.

One of the blue crabs found at the aquarium.

I went to the "Audubon Aquarium of Americas" in New Orleans several days ago and spent the afternoon 'trying' to photograph some of the exhibits. I found it quite challenging as I had never photographed an aquarium and because of: lighting, moving animals, reflections on the glass, people constantly moving around and many other factors but it was an interesting time and hopefully I got some reasonably fair images. I will post more in the future. :-)
