Once Upon A Time On An Airfield

Last night I shot the last train picture of 2021, and it was a decent train. A relatively clean Central of Georgia heritage unit leads a short NS 12Z manifest east downgrade through Shawsville. It's seen here passing the cemetery at John Farm. A flash decided to not fire, so its not exactly how I pictured it, but it worked out alright.

Theme: “Refreshments"

Thank you so much everyone for your visit, faves and comments!

They are truly appreciated! HMM :)

I did a set up in my friends backyard today. He lives in a higher elevation than I do and that is where a bigger variety of Hummres exist. I used a three system flash set up utilizing a backdrop I made before going to Ecuador. Hopefully we'll get a bunch more migrating as summer nears.

In this case, a very tiny one! :-)

While in Texas I was lucky enough to witness several Fall Outs of Migrating Song Birds and spent a lot of time using flash photography in dense wooded areas to capture the migrating Song Birds. Many of which had just landed after crossing the Gulf of Mexico!! Hope you like the image, they are very fast moving as they hunt for food!!

I was lucky to get a picture of this Sedge Wren, our little rare visitor. They like grasslands and thick meadows to hide and eat. I went back to find it again and also a Short-eared Owl, but they cut down all their habitat. No Wren. No Owl. The Owl was a rare visitor for our area too. Central Bucks PA.

Just after nightfall last night NS 65D rumbled west by the Cambria Depot in Christiansburg, Va with a pair of Canadian National GE's for power. I didnt quite get the flashes set up how I wanted them since I was extremely short on time, but it worked.

A few days ago, I had to say goodbye to my wonderful friend Gulliver. He was incredibly smart, playful, goofy and very affectionate. He made me smile every day for 14 years.
