Male Ruby-throated Hummingbird. It may be a transient but at least they are coming back to my backyard. I had the feeder out for two weeks because of reports of them in surrounding areas. This is shot from my deck and the green background is the grass. What joy they bring!

In a scene that could have taken place along any industry along the St.Louis & San Francisco Railroad in the final months of World War I, Frisco 1630 holds at the railroad crossing during night operations at the Illinois Railway Museum on Labor Day Weekend 2021. 1630, known as a Russian Decapod, is a 2-10-0 build by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1918 originally for export to Russia. After the Bolshevik Revolution, all remaining decapods not yet shipped to Russia remained behind, and were eventually sold to US railroads. IRM is the largest railroad museum in the United States.

This image was taken hand held near a garden area at a locals house. We stopped our car got out pulled the trigger getting this shot. A lot of my hummingbird shots in Ecuador are multi-flash set ups using feeders. I only say this because a lot worked well in this shot and it could be misconstrued as a set up shot. Nope, out in the field it was..Well, a garden actually.

Thanks for stopping by and givin me your thoughts.

Make it a great week ahead my friends.

Badger (my nighttime garden visitor)

Last night I shot the last train picture of 2021, and it was a decent train. A relatively clean Central of Georgia heritage unit leads a short NS 12Z manifest east downgrade through Shawsville. It's seen here passing the cemetery at John Farm. A flash decided to not fire, so its not exactly how I pictured it, but it worked out alright.

Thank you so much everyone for your visit, faves and comments!

They are truly appreciated! HMM :)

I did a set up in my friends backyard today. He lives in a higher elevation than I do and that is where a bigger variety of Hummres exist. I used a three system flash set up utilizing a backdrop I made before going to Ecuador. Hopefully we'll get a bunch more migrating as summer nears.
