ProjectX with Kodak Ultramax 400. Sept 2021. Images C-41 processed and scanned by AG Photolab. October 2021
Brittney recently picked up a couple of cameras and a flash at Goodwill. There was some trouble getting the flash to work, but Benn performed some hackery with a few spare parts and a healthy dose of duct tape, and the flash was working again. I volunteered to run through a few test shots, and, naturally, had to get a few self-portraits in. The flash appeared to work just fine; I just had to do everything in manual mode (which I normally do even with my SB-600). I'm sure Brittney will now have tons of super flash shots coming up in the near future.
Mental note: I must learn to check my posture before taking shots like this. My stomach looks a bit bulbous. :P

Spent some time at Longwood Gardens fooling with Off Camera Flash. The idea here was to manually set the camera to UNDER EXPOSE the image causing the backgrounds to become darker. The off camera flash was optically triggered to throw some light onto the flower in the foreground. It took some experimenting to determine the best flash power setting. Going off camera with the flash also allowed positioning it to reduce shadows. The camera's built-in flash was set to a low power setting (-3) so it would not contribute much towards lighting the scene but was still enough to act as a trigger.
Cuz Old school is more cool!

Ilford Delta 100. Shot box speed. Self-developed in Caffenol C-H, fixed with salt water+KBr
Pushed a little on purpose, but maybe too much (17m instead of 15) and then didn't stop it properly so it likely kept developing during its 18h fix bath. These are some THICC negatives that took a lot of work to get anything out of!

No sign of the Kingfishers today but there is plenty of running water in the nearby River Wheelock.

This is my Pentax K1000 with flash and without lens, shooting at the wall, with shutter speed at 1/125.
Notice the shutter curtain halfway, showing that it's working fine, and that this speed is inappropriate for flash photos.
wow, testing my new objective (Sigma 18-50mm/2.8 Macro) and then such a scary scenery outside. The flash on the photo was the highlight of the day for me!
