Just couldn't wait. Approx my 4th image with my new D300 toy - bought this afternoon.
Under exposed the ambient by approx 1 stop and blipped my daughter with flash set to 1/8th power. Handheld the flash and triggered by the Nikon CLS system.

Experimenting with low key self portraits. Crafted a budget flash modifier from an empty Pringles can to tightly direct the light and keep the background black.

Guests at a wedding. Photographed after dark, inside a tent. Pentax *ist D, Tokina AT-X Pro II 2.6-2.8/28-70mm, Metz 60CT-2 flash with reflector screen. Shot in TTL-flash mode (The camera coltroled the flash duration).
Taken on a grey overcast morning from my deck with the light coming from behind and to the left. I popped the SB910 flash (set to narrow beam and fill flash) on my D500, set the Exposure Compensation to +2, and hoped for the best with a series of hand held shots at 1/250 second (upper limit for the SB910).
Function Area 2 of Basic Still Photography at Defense Information School at Fort Meade, MD. Emphasizing on flash technique, this area of the course taught the basics using a SB-28DX Flash and included bounce, indirect, off camera, and synchro-sun photography.

Delano has a series of screen prints of flash from a whole line up of tattoo artists. They are awesome. Oh, and that's Bob Shaw up top.
Here's a couple of experiments I was trying out with a backflash on my hand...interesting effects...now for a much more powerful flash unit!
Tungsten WB, off camera 430EX with orange filter, 8 sec, canon 350D with peleng 8mm. The flash was poped manualy. Post process is curves, crop and dodge/burn.
