trying out flash in full daylight to fill the shadow on the right side of his face ... don't think it was that successful, however, I do love his expression

Not my favourite pictures but these are just to show what I did! These pictures were taken at the breakfast table yesterday. The one on the left was taken with the flash (took me a while to work how how to get it to work in manual!). The one on the right was taken with my shopping list held over the flash to soften the light. Much better in my opinion, if only she had been looking at me. I am keen to try out other ways of manipulating the flash now. It would have been easier if I hadn't had to constantly hold the piece of white paper!
