On the evening of 12/18/15, we had our first snowfall of the 2015/2016 winter ---late for this area. I went out the next day before the little snow we had melted.

Although I took some photos, I wasn't much inspired by the images I found while driving around the countryside west of Zelienople, PA. But I stumbled upon an area where I had previously taken some photos in the summer, but couldn't find again, so now I know where it is. (I had the GPS in my camera turned off the day I took the photos.) And I heard an interview with one of my favorite authors (Lee Child) on NPR while driving. So, it was a somewhat productive morning.

Calgary Stampede Parade July 2018

Having seen numerous ethanol trains that interchanged from the Canadian Pacific to CSX, Bensenville, Illinois was one yard I wanted to visit on a 2021 trip to the area.

I may have the symbol wrong but this is what I think the Tower called CP 473 coming into the yard from the east. He was a long mixed manifest that followed a westbound Metra train through the area. He appeared to enter the yard and go from there.

Thankfully the lights of the runway lit up an awful morning at the United States Air Force base at RAF Lakenheath this week with low cloud and mist around the base for most of the morning this was 1 of only 2 F-15 Eagles to manage to get airborne before 1130 due to a weather hold being implemented shortly after they returned!

First of a batch of E200s to arrive

When I caught my first glimpse of the beach last Wednesday, I wasn't very hopeful of getting great shots. It was rather gloomy and extremely windy out. The beach was all but deserted, with only the most die hard walkers and bikers taking advantage of the solitude to get their exercise. Capturing shots was difficult, as the wind kicked up sand, and blew my hair and camera strap in front of the lens! When I looked to the west, though, I could see that the clouds were headed out to sea, and blue skies were going to emerge, so I stayed for a little while to see if I could capture more "classic" beach weather for you!

Aside from the wind, I have always preferred the stormy looking days on the beach. Everything takes on a drama that makes it feel exciting. Unfortunately, the electricity here can be all too real, and not just moody! Central Florida is the lightning capital of the United States, and so when storm clouds are around, there's always the chance of being stuck. It happens to several unlucky people yearly. In my years of dodging lightning bolts for a shot, I've been blessed that none came too close!

Here you get just the slightest taste of windy, stormy weather in the Daytona Beach area. Within minutes, the sky was turning blue, and the scene became a typical tropical postcard. The wind was still fierce, but you'd never know looking at the scene unless you'd been there.

The first snowfall. In my house, we all run outside to catch snowflakes. There isn’t anything as exciting as that first fall of snow! (November 2018)

We have moved and this was our first morning walk. The cats settled straight away so I was happy letting them out, we had a walk around and then it was straight back into unpacking.

Hopefully will try and catch up with you all and get into my flickr routine once I have settled properly. Still have to go back and clean up other property and collect horses which will happen this weekend.

Squirt is fitting in really well by the way and will add some photos soon.

A little throwback to December 2012 and the rather short-lived (in London at least) 61-reg batch of Scania OmniCitys which replaced the bendy buses on route 207.
