First Aberdeen 39702 on College Street on service 18 to Redmoss. 26th August 2023.

I first saw this building about 5 years ago and have been wanting to get a photo of it ever since. It is located about an hour away from where I live and is just barely visible from the highway. Needed to go exploring to locate it on the back roads. Beautiful old building and equally beautiful landscape.

Bevor sich wieder penieble Leute aufregen. Ja, so hält man keinen Bogen. War nur ein Schnappschuss bei den ersten Versuchen mit dem Ding zu schießen.

The winter storms were hard on the hardiest of plants, the ones that call the sandy, salty beach home. Having seen the waves and high tides flatten the dunes where these plants grow, I wasn't expecting to see them again.

I underestimated them. Their roots must run much, much deeper than I thought they did. Now that it's May, the sand verbena and other beach plants are back, bigger and better than ever.

This was our reason for exploring this canyon. I knew it was fenced off before we started off on the hike. I'm always disappointed being denied access, but the truth of the matter is, in this case, it's probably best. People clambering all over the structure will just be detrimental to its health.

The very first leaves are spectacular in fresh iridescent yellows, translucent to light and perfect in their presentation. The very best part of spring for me.

Nubble Lighthouse

Cape Neddick, Maine

Constructed in 1879 & still in use today.

This is one of many shots of Nubble Light. I don't know about you, but I always take about 50 or more pics of basically the same comp when I am photographing a place like this. Maybe because the light & sky is ever-changing but I'm always trying to get the best possible shot. There is such a limited window with a sunrise I don't want to waste any of that precious time. Anyway, I was going through these pics today and realized this one got over-looked. It was taken at 4:53am on 8/28, a beautiful summer morning. We live relatively close to Nubble so it's only a 40 min drive but getting up at 3:30 is never easy, I'm sure glad we did that morning. It turned out to be one to remember.

This is the first sunset of the new year, I know I do alot of this kind of workbut I cant help it. I made the lake and the Water droplets in Photoshop. The land and the sky are the real deal, I added the bottom Half. I just like to have reflections in my work. I will post more shot from tonite in the days to come but for now Here you go. BTW it was in the single digits tonite.

First morning after descending from Mount Kinabalu. Did a long exposure of the fog sweeping in, if look closely, you can see the light rays between the trees!

Thanks Nora for arranging the accommodation here for us, beautiful place to watch the clouds and Mount Kinabalu.

This is the last image from this little series. I probably posted more of these than I should have, but I had a lot of fun shooting them and I don't often photograph close to home, so I indulged myself. Thank you for all the favs and comments.

A few weeks ago we got the first snow of the year in Toronto. It was the most perfect kind of snow - the kind that sits on the trees like icing sugar. Because the snow came a bit early, and because our Fall was a bit late, there were still a lot of leaves on the trees and bushes. It made for some wonderfully unique and colourful winter scenes that were a lot of fun to photograph.

On my recent trip to Dead Horse Point in Utah, I got up before sunrise so I could hurry to the overlook.

It was an amazing sunrise, and I found this wonderful old pine tree ready to greet the first rays of the day.

No doubt it had seen many.many more than I had, and will probably outlast me too!

I will never tire of the desert southwest, and might even move there in the not too distant future.

First Breath was a celebration of new life across Greater Manchester. Each evening in January 2023, powerful beams of light shot up high above the city skyline and pulsed to represent the moment that a baby takes its first gasp of air. Designed by Luke Jerram, to connect the ground to the sky in a visual representation of new life.
