*RARE* Extremely rare working of a single deck on Metroline route 32. DEL2071 seen on stand at Kilburn Park. This was the first time a DEL has worked the 32. 32 is the only double deck Metroline route that the Cricklewood based DELs have on their blindest.
First time trying macro snowflakes, and I had a blast! I learned a lot with this batch, and I'm looking forward to the next storm.
All snowflake photos are taken with a reversing ring on either Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 or 35-70mm. Hand-held.
It's a shot of the Tycho Crater taken through my 10" Dobsonian. First time using my starter rig, so I figured I would start with something simple like the moon. It was out tonight and there was a clear night with a couple of clouds. Hopefully more to follow.
A dog ventures out for its first walk in the snow as "the beast from the east" hit the UK in the late winter of 2018.
I had a great day yesterday having a makeup lesson and learning to use it to create a feminine image. I was amazed when I saw myself in the mirror. I look completely different. I think we went a bit heavy on the makeup during the lesson, but that was to go over everything an understand what everything does. I will be able to try out some lighter and simpler styles later. The makeup artist gave me this cute dress to wear during the lesson and to keep, and I had a great time posing for shots.
To all my Flickr Mothers I'm sending you this rose. It is the the photo that started me on the path to photography. The beginning.
I send it to you as you reflect on the first time you became a Mom and to also remember the beauty of that moment. The beginning.
Blessings and love on this day.

First time taking out the z6 for night shots. I absolutely love this camera. Have already shot some portraits with it. The eye autofocus is a game changer.
For the first time in a few months, I had the chance to get out trackside. With blue skies and a fresh coating of snow, all I needed was a train. As luck would have it, I got word that the exec 70MAC with a BN nose logo was departing Denver to head south on the Joint Line. My morning was set! Acequia, CO 1/10/25.
Trainfestival 2009 was the first time since the Huntington 1991 NRHS convention that these two Lima sisters have sat side by side. Before the big event started these two beauties sit out a very quiet night at SRI with only night watch men and a couple random folks wandering the ground doing last minute preparation.
First time I see a Moxi Teenz at flea market and first time I have one there too :D she'll join my 2 Tristen <3 sadly I didn't have her wig so I gave her a Liv one and honestly it looks super sweet on her <3
This is the first time in a while I have had the chance to get out and do what I love doing.
8 image pan
Canon 50d
Focal length: 25mm
Iso 100
F/22@ 1/8 second
GND 8
Not so much a new years resolution, but more of "Pull it back, your getting off track"
As all can see I'm a pano head...It's my thing! almost an obsession!
The putting of a camera on an expensive pan setup is only the means to an end which to be honest is wearing a bit thin.
I have no trouble at all filling an 8 gig card in twenty mins..because I can, it is usually the case! I only carry one card so as not to go crazy just snapping away.
I shoot large Raw and small Jpeg, stitch the jpegs so I can determine what to use for a pan...(if any) ...20 pans can take up to 3 hours to put together, before I even start on the selected image!
The drawbacks of panning can be many
especially if long exposures are used.
For my landscape photography which is about 90% of what I do, the needs are simple: crystal sharp glass, the slower the better! F/22 - F/11 Iso as high as 200 hahaha, and a system that tells me to slow down, think, and tell it what to do, a system that is state of the art digital, although primitive in all other respects...something that will see me through all the amazing developments we have had and are going through...something that I never have to update!
Introducing my new baby..coming soon!
One of my personal doll miniatures, published as part of a feature in the newest issue of Haute Doll Magazine (www.hautedoll.com) - vintage Mattel Living Skipper wearing "Twice as Nice" with an Urban Outfitters desktop hot pink Christmas Tree and Hello Kitty ornaments from Target paired with faux-glass ornaments from BORDERS.
This was the first time I've seen one of these birds in the wild, and I was really stoked! Roseate Spoonbills are among the weirdest, and prettiest birds in Florida, and I was fortunate to have stumbled upon them while venturing out in the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge near NASA!
This shot was taken on full 20 x's optical zoom as the bird was quite a distance from me. I was pretty pleased with how clear it came out. This was quite a profitable shoot, with gators, various birds, manatees and even a snake this time! I'll be posting many of the shots in the weeks to come.
For more information on the Roseate Spoonbill, check out Wikipedia:
Airport Rd 2017: The first time I get to spot one of these, and it had to be on the 'fast' lane; also in Shift: www.thedailystar.net/shift/features/car-spotting/volvo-s90
A home-lifer (homer?) for me. I believe this rose-breasted grosbeak is a first year male. And I'm not sure if the bright pink on his breast is "rose" coloring coming in or berry stain. I couldn't get as close as I had hoped, but cropping to 1:1 and some post-processing made this photo presentable.
I watched the mother and her 11 baby ducklings cross the road as they walked toward the lake. All of them looked scared then the mother took the first plunged. The mother started quacking as if she was encouraging her ducklings to jump into the water. After a few minutes, one of them finally had the nerve to jump in. Then one after the other they did, until all of them got into the lake. Like a child visiting a toy store for the first time, each of them swam at different directions with their mother frantically quacking to get them all together close to her. I watched them for awhile until their mother led them to the other side of the lake. I hope that some of them will make it to adulthood.
Thank you all so much for dropping by and for your kind comments. They are very much appreciated! Have a HAPPY and BLESSED Friday and a nice weekend ahead.

The first time I saw a photo of a single poppy by Aldo Crovetto, I knew that I wanted to do something similar....something uncomplicated that shows off the singular natural beauty of a common flower. I love poppies, but they are not often seen in coastal Virginia. I did, however, find a rather beautiful weed - the thistle - that gave me a similar opportunity to photograph a lone flower in my own style.
If you want to see more of Aldo's work, visit his website:
He also currently has an exhibit in Rome that I would recommend visiting if you have the opportunity.... I have put a link to Aldo's poster for the exhibit below.
It is traditional, or it is with me, that the first time someone reaches the top the pass they get their picture with the sign. This was not Shirley's first time, but she still likes her photo with the pass sign.
We will have some friends going with us this year, so they will get their picture taken with all the pass roads they do.
I've been so busy, sorry! Trying to balance this and college and music is so hard! I'm so sorry! But here is a photo I took a few days ago in my favourite field at uni. I'm sorry for the inconsistency, I'll work on that.
Also, first time trying the VSCO presets and ohmygosh it's so great! jlfdshglksdfjgh bless these presets <3
Anyways, thanks for stopping by! :D :D :D
Social Media, if you're into that
A new release in which for the first time I'm providing appliers for Genus. I hope you like this fantasy model.
Quick taxi
Worth mentioning, if you like the Genus shape in this pic, I would suggest to have a look to this designer, Iman Morningstar that kindly provided the shape & stylecard. Here is her profile on Flickr and link to MP shape.
This is the first time in my life that I managed to capture a lightning in operation. November Rain has arrived and Singapore is experiencing wet weather almost every day.
First time I have tried this spot and would certainly go here again (Providing its a Northbound Working).
DC Railfreight Tug 60055 'Thomas Barnard' is seen powering through Heron Cross, Stoke-on-Trent with the 6Z50 1453 Chaddesden Sdgs to Carlisle Kingmoor V.Q.(Nr).
Seeing a freight working through the North Staffs is unusual these days, so could not miss this. A great sight and my first sighting of a DC Railfreight Tug!
...I was nervous. I have done tons of "bug pics" and I'm normally worrying about whether the shot turned out --not about the thing I'm photographing. This guy was different. He was big and pissed and looked like he could (and would) sting me and enjoy doing it...
Last July, the Webb telescope released its very first image: the deepest and sharpest image ever seen. Zooming in on the data, scientists found 3 young, distant galaxies similar to rare, small galaxies called “green peas” in our cosmic backyard. Because the light has traveled so far to get to us, we’re seeing these 3 galaxies as they were up to 13.1 billion years ago.
Specifically, the galactic trio share chemical characteristics — oxygen, hydrogen, and neon signatures — with “green pea” galaxies. (“Green peas” resembled green dots in their discovery images.) Due to their similarities, researchers may be able to study nearby “green peas” in detail to learn more about distant early galaxies.
While Webb’s infrared vision is incredibly sensitive, in this case Webb had some help from space’s “magnifying glass.” The effect of gravitational lensing meant that the mass of the galaxy cluster in Webb’s image actually magnified these tiny, distant galaxies by up to 10 times.
The farthest of the 3 galaxies contains only 2% the oxygen found in a galaxy like ours. This suggests the galaxy is extremely young, as it contains very few heavy elements (like oxygen) recycled from earlier stars. Learn more: www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2023/nasa-s-webb-telescope-r...
In this image: The James Webb Space Telescope’s Near-Infrared Spectrograph captured the chemical fingerprints of selected galaxies behind SMACS 0723, including three faint, distant objects. When corrected for the wavelength stretch caused by the expansion of space over billions of years, the spectra of these galaxies (shown in red) exhibit features emitted by oxygen, hydrogen, and neon that show a stunning resemblance to those seen from so-called green pea galaxies found nearby (in green). Additionally, the Webb observations made it possible to measure the amount of oxygen in these cosmic dawn galaxies for the first time. The spectral lines have been stretched vertically in order to clarify these relationships.

Image description: Two different sets of spectral data, comparing the chemical fingerprints of green pea galaxies with young, distant galaxies observed by the Webb telescope. On the top is the green pea galaxies data, shown in two squiggly horizontal lines of bright green, and below that is the Webb data, shown in three lines of red. The data sets share remarkably similar line patterns representing the elemental signatures of oxygen, neon, and hydrogen. From left to right, both data sets generally start off with a high frequency of peaks and dips, which gradually taper out into just occasional peaks by the end.
First time I’ve had any issue with either Nikon camera...all shots taken yesterday, including this, have a strong blue cast which when opened shows “colour temperature” away to the left at 2200 and “tint” at -3. I can change from “As Shot” to another setting to get something close to normal but highlights are still wildly overexposed meaning no detail at all in white areas. This is as good as I can get from a dozen images tried...my solution, get my D7000 and set the D610 as its older sibling is set and hope for the best.
Georgios Alexios is a general cargo ship built in the Netherlands in 2000 and on its way to Tilbury, which it is minutes away from...in real time still within Tilbury Docks and about to sail for Vlissingen, Netherlands.

This lady loved her cat and so took it for walks in the park, sometimes on a leash so it wouldn't get away from her. Sitting on a bench for a while, she did not mind my taking her photo. The photo shows the newest West Vancouver Restaurant EARLS in the background which had just opened around this time.
We enjoyed an outdoor lunch just a few days ago there; it is so crowded inside and at outside tables that it was our first time to get a small table. It is popular as one is right at the ocean and near the local Art Galleries.
A chance photo of MX07BUU, Go North West 3215 at Queens Road depot dripping wet after a quick wash and brush up, this was just prior to its departure for the long journey up to Newcastle following transfer to the Go North East fleet. It did exactly the same today and has now returned to Go North East for the second time but I didn’t get a photo this time round.
