Actually, two lenses. I had cataract surgery on one eye in September and the second eye in October. Not being able to dive/snorkel for 4 months was not fun!

For the first time in decades, Steam had returned to the D&I in the form of Canadian Pacific 2816.

With clear signals to Hampshire, CP 2816 brings CPKC 40B aka the Final Spike Excursion over the Fox River in Elgin, Illinois on their way to the Quad Cities.

First time photographing these colourful Scandinavian visitors.

This is a male in winter plumage; as spring approaches the brown tipped feathers slowly moult away to reveal a jet black head and upperparts.

My daughter kisses her newborn son - December 13, 2011.

First time across the street - just too many good smells for a photo session!

For the first time in nearly 52 years since it was withdrawn from the Victorian Railways and nearly 100 years since built, A2 986 returns to the mainline!

Nearly 5 months ago, A2 986 operated for the first time under its own power around Newport Workshops and today onto the mainline!

Here the pairing of A2 986 and T395 leave Newport Workshops with the first run as 0580.

A2 986 began mainline testing operating a series of trips between Newport and Sunshine. This allowed for testing at low speed in a controlled environment. Some adjustments have been found to fix at a later date though the overall testing was a success.

A T class diesel (no. 395) was used to provide a modest load for A2 986, to provide a train to base radio for communication and to help with driver training of V/Line crews on the goods only railway line to Sunshine.

Sunday 25th October 2015

I was not nervous and really enjoyed the experience.

This was the first time I had gone to a wannaGoFast event. I went on a Saturday, September 17th, 2016 to the Heaven's Landing Airstrip located in Clayton, Georgia. I want to thank the wannaGoFast organization for providing me a media pass to this event. I would certainly go again in the future. If you never been to such an event, you should go at least once and see what it's really like to see cars going their fastest. This was the first time I had ever seen a Lamborghini go over 200mph in person !

The wannaGoFast organization was founded in order to fill a niche in the motorsports marketplace. Our goal was to create a safe and controlled environment for fellow car enthusiasts to pursue their “Need For Speed” without the restrictions of the standard 1/8 or 1/4 mile drag strip. See what it’s like to hit speeds you’ve only dreamed of without the risk of law enforcement or causing injury to others, while being surrounded by on-site safety personnel.

First time for me seeing this raptor

CTA 6000 series cars 6711-6712 stop at Adams/Wabash during a shakedown/clearance run. This is the first time in 27 years that these cars have been to the Loop since their retirement in 1992. After retirement they were destined for scrap but were acquired by the Museum of Transport in St. Louis. CTA repatriated the cars in 2017, and after much work by the CTA Heritage Fleet volunteers, returned the cars to running order in September 2018. This is their first big outing since coming back to CTA.

They were built by St. Louis Car Co. in 1959 in the last batch of 6000's to come to CTA. They used recycled components from scrapped CTA "Green Hornet" PCC streetcars.

My friend. Zeeva took me to Chouchou... really cool place

Next weekend we're going skiing and snowboarding. Very exiting!, except, we've never done it before. Thank goodness for indoor snow parks that have beginner classes. I am going to be very sore tomorrow.

My first visit to Catherine Hill bay wharf (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_Hill_Bay,_New_South_Wales) and I was lucky enough to be presented with a nice sky.

The first time that I photographed Boeing 737-3T5 G-BLKB was in June 1986 when it was in Orion Airways colours: www.flickr.com/photos/emdjt42/4404945612 at Newcastle Airport. By March 1989 it was with Britannia Airways and is pictured here on the move at Birmingham Airport. It was written-off over-running the runway at Burbank as Southwest Airlines N668SW on March 5th 2000.

First time looking for storms and lightning in northern Bengkulu, Indonesia. with multiple photos and merged with other photos using Photoshop

First time catching one, they do look great in person!

Finally got a chance to dress, new 'casual dressy' everyday outfit

First time of seeing a Romanian locomotive and unexpected too. Here we see a Constantin Grup (part of the PKP Cargo family) locomotive 430109 working an intermodal train through Szar enroute towards Budapest and beyond on the 22/2/22.

The engine was built in the 1960s and use to be owned by CFR in Romania.

Unfortunately a naughty cloud partially blocked the sun as the train approached - naturally the unit behind was in full bling :-(

First time taking and processing a raw file exclusively on my phone

A non-descript UP GE leads an eastbound freight out of the siding at La Coste, TX, passing the ex-SP water tank commemorating one of the most unexpected high school football championships in Texas history. This was my first attempt at night photography with coordinated flashes (four used for this scene), and I must say its a bit addicting. September 2020.

As students dance on the floor above, performers get "in face" for a drag show which will conclude Spectrum (Depaul's) annual GLBT dance.

I shoot with a canon d40. 580flash. I am a photojournalist for the DePaul Weekly DePaulia. But this is not for the publication and it my first time shooting these performers.

As luck would have it, there were no other spare vehicles to cover an afternoon duty on Saturday, so it had to go out in its anonymous - and rather confusing to the uninitiated - half-finished state. Here it hits the open road for the first time, although not to do battle in the way that Little Gems were used to doing, rather to do a couple of turns on the 79 service in Salford.

thrilling experience, i tell you :-) Was very windy, hair looks like a mess :-)

Not the first time I've stopped to take a photo of these trees, they look so good with the low sun.

First time at this location and fumbled horribly with setting up the tripod on the parapet. Probably will re-shoot this again, hoping for the same light. The light was breathtaking that morning.

Repainted GTW SD40-2 5930 brings up the rear of the CN Santa Train in Joliet, IL. This is the first time this train has made a visit to Joliet.

Today was the first time that a Wright Electroliner did Abellio's 285. These EVs are allocated to 111 [Heathrow - Kingston] which shares its termini with the 285. The 285 is allocated 20-plate Smart Hybrid Enviro400 MMCs but today an Electroliner made its debut straying on the route, as seen here in Teddington. LV72BZX, 3027.

First time out after lockdown

Imagine being allowed out on your own with one of these at 125mph

Today was the first time in two years I have seen her out in the daytime. I suspect by the mouthful of bread she took she has babies out in the woods to feed!

Love wearing Roman dresses and hope you’re not fed up of my close ups.

This will be the last one for a couple of weeks my lovely friends

Hugs, Rochelle

I love these two so very much. There is a bittersweetness in watching my son grow up, but I love watching my husband lead him into young adulthood.
