High key treatment of a beautiful plot of spring flowers - from last year, unfortunately! Too early for flowers here yet.

AAW January 20 - 27: Femininity

WIT: Well, I've got more makeup than I care to admit, but it does represent a lot of what makes me feel feminine. So here is a small portion of what I own - it's hard work for me to look presentable to the public, lol! I arranged the cosmetics - harder than I thought, as they had to look good in camera - colours, shapes, direction, all had to be considered to make it look aesthetically pleasing. In post, cropped to square, and added a bit of saturation and contrast.

#Macro #MacroMondays #Redux #OneColor #FillTheFrame

The Macro Mondays theme for this week is "Fill the Frame" Photo of straw hat.

I get a kick out of how much we baby this little chihuahua. Just look at how she's all wrapped up real cozy like in that fuzzy white blanket, even though it's a warm day. Our German shepherd has been giving us strange looks lately, like maybe we've taken a deep dip into senility...

I have a dish my daughter made years ago in a pottery class in my workroom. I keep pieces of inspiration in the dish. This is just a small part of the collection. I enjoy finding beauty in items past their prime. Some of the items are from last fall and some, like the tulip petals, are from just a couple weeks ago.

These are conch peas, which seem to be generally found in the Southern states of USA, from what I have been reading! I did this photo shoot and then proceeded to blanch and package five pints of these delicious little peas.

Earlier in the week, I bought some of these little peas at a farmer's market, not knowing what they were. I cooked them in salted water, flavored with smoked bacon. I steamed some new potatoes on top of these peas. Oh what a delicious Southern dish it was! So, I later discovered them to be conch peas - a popular field pea that's hard to find. This farmer's market acquired them as a trade with another farmer for tomatoes. I am so glad they did. If you want to try them, too, there are still a few bags at the Central Florida Hunsader's Farm!
