Hubby and I went to a strawberry patch this morning and picked our own strawberries. It is something we go out to do at least once a year during the season. Sometimes we go twice but if we can't make it back, we make sure to pick lots the first time we go. Today, for instance, we picked these twelve quarts in addition to some baskets. We picked about 25 lbs in total. I know that is quite a bit but we eat them pretty much every day when they're in season. I will also bake with them, freeze some for smoothies etc and my most favourite thing to do with them? Make some homemade jam. Yum! And that is coming in the near future....

I hope you are all enjoying your Saturday! Cheers, friends. :)

Happy Macro Monday - today's theme is to fill the frame with plants or flowers. My husband surprised me with a fresh bouquet this week so I had flowers to work with, it was a fortunate coincidence.

I was studying this garden and noticed that he's planted it heavily with bluebells. But the tulips are the main attraction. Then, I remembered Richard Harvey UK's recent shots of bluebells. Thanks!!!

Rainbow In My World Today

by - Casarah Nance www.poetrysoup.com/poems_poets/poems_by_poet.aspx?ID=47419

There is a rainbow in my world today,

With every word your write my way.

Colors of emotions flow in harmony,

as they spread across the sky in unity.

Wrap me in your red, orange and blue,

fill me with the violet passion of you.

You make the sky shine after that rain,

softly your soul pushes away the pain.

In every luxurious line that you say,

you are the rainbow in my world today.

So trying to decide if this is one leaf or several leaves or a branch? I think I'll stick with birds. Much simpler. :)

I took this photo of frost thinking of "fill the frame." But it fits as well for "unusual patterns," "one color," and possibly "translucent." If we'd had a "black in the back" theme, it would fit for that as well. This is between one-and-a-half and two inches across. I like the frost speckles on the background, lending a "starry night" feel to the background.

The One who created galaxies and forests and who invented the practical, beautiful feather also paints the world periodically with beautiful frost, most of it never even seen by human eyes. That He watches over His people, and has chosen to communicate His thoughts to us and to come to us Himself in the person of Jesus, is wonderful. Merry Christmas and a happy 2021.
