This Land Rover is used by West Midlands Fire Service to respond quickly to small fires. It's quicker and cheaper than sending a full-sized tender. Seen at the International Fire Fighters Day event in Walsall town centre. Note also the man with a cone on his head.

Saw a similar photo posted on my facebook feed some days earlier. That was definitely an inspiration to try this out. Not satisfied with the end results much though. But that pushes me to try again.
When I took this bubble shot, it popped, so I thought 'I've either got it or I haven't'. But I think I might have actually caught the moment of the popping. I didn't think this would be possible at such a low shutter speed (1/200), but all that disturbance on the bottom left corner is telling the story. I've probably taken 20,000 bubble shots (seriously!), so it's not surprising if I capture the odd strange moment. As strange moments go, this is a peach!
This is a SOOC (Straight out of the camera) shot too, so you're not seeing any editing effects.
Interestingly, I think someone with a strobe (high powered light) setup could capture a much faster shot of a bubble breaking up, but I doubt they could capture the beautiful light reflections too. Prove me wrong if you can. Would be nice to see a very high speed soap bubble break-up.

The last shot in my photostream was of my friend, Viv, when she was only about 15 or 16 years old. Fast forward to the present, and this is her now!
This shot was taken recently when her husband, Fran, (who probably took the photo,) and she were vacationing on Florida's west coast, by the Gulf of Mexico. Viv is just a few months older than I, and still looking great after 47 or 48 years! The smile is just as big as ever. I did a bit of retouching on the smile lines on her face, and took a couple of years of age off, but other than that and a little cropping and brightening, not much was done to the shot. I absolutely love it! Viv is still photographic after all these years.
Seen in Anaconda,Montana. A fast slide with the sliding area and the side walls built as a smooth form.
Do you ever wonder why Wile E. Coyote can never catch the Road Runner? Maybe it's the speed of these birds. Just as tough, try photographing them in a full gallop! This is my FIRST successfully photographed Road Runner at speed!
An Egyptian goose with no less than ten well-grown goslings in Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. With breeding success like this it's no wonder they are taking over the world. It would seem that anywhere in its native South Africa where there's water from veld water holes to garden lakes there are Egyptian geese. I think it won't be long before this can be said for the whole of the UK.
