On October 30, 2013, BNSF's Fort Collins to Denver manifest led by a BNSF EMD SD75I No. 8295 pulls into the siding at Longs Peak, Colorado, where they'll wait for the Valmont Coal Train to clear up in Boulder before continuing south to Denver.

The woods isn't this highly colored yet, but in a matter of weeks, the color will arrive and then disappear as quickly as it comes.
Not a mushroom I'd dare eat but the field guides say it's a bolete and edible. I'm not quite daring enough to try.
the leaves really were impressive in the evening sun. i love that each walk (we take a few per week and i run in between) is entirely different.
fall walks seem to have encourages my youngest to say his first color, "yellow."
Checking me out. A nice fall evening at Isle Lake Alberta. With the winds this afternoon we will be lucky to have any more leaves left on the trees.
I've been stalking this owl since early summer trying to get a decent picture. I was so over it I had left my camera in the car. Then he smugly shows up. Guess who ran back to her car?
On a chilly fall morning I got up early to take photos, going to my car to get the lens I wanted. But there was a wonderful scene in the car and I spent the next hour taking pictures there of the frost on the windshield with an aspen tree right outside the window. As the sky turned blue, the frost did also. I turned this one on its side to look like a landscape of trees.
The legendary, and thoroughly strange, Mark E Smith brought his latest incarnation of The Fall to Bloomberg Space, the gallery in our building.
The lower tier of Duck Falls on the Brookside Trail, on Mount Madison, New Hampshire. The fall itself was in the shade, but as luck would have it, the flying spray was in sunlight. Getting there (the way we did it) was a 6.2 mile round trip, with ~2200' of climbing.

I know, super creative titles. Sorry! HAHA! Anyway, this photo was taken on a super rainy NJ day in my front yard. You can definitely tell that Fall has arrived! The leaves are everywhere, the temps have dropped and the days are getting shorter. I tend to lose motivation for photography once it gets too cold for me...which is any day that is below 50 degrees pretty much! I am hoping to not have that happen this year. Gonna go buy some warm ass gear I think!
