The forest dissolves in falling snow. Tree trunks turn into lines, colors into hints, space into motion. What remains is not a place, but a state: cold, silence, and the gentle fading of form. An image like a breath in winter.
And so it begins! External walls of the old mill start to collapse in the area where water had been coming through the roof for years, rotting away the heavy wooden support beams and floors.
In two months' time there would be a gaping canyon in the building here … and of course I had to go shoot that, too. In a few more years, look for more collapsing walls in the other end of the building, off-camera right. The floors and beams have disintegrated there, too.
taken during an all day travel shoot with my homies Dreday and Chane. 10 hours of shooting in 4 different locations around Houston. Dwight D. Eisenhower Park
I have heard this waterfall from the road many times and finally had my rubber boots on one morning so I decided to trudge through the soggy field and climb down the banks to see what it was all about. Hope you like it..shall share the black and white version too. we had a lot of rain yesterday so if finish my planned squirrel photo shoot I hope to go check out a place I have not been yet. have a great weekend everyone!
I love the fall colors! The golds, reds, oranges, rusts and yellows of fall just make me feel wonderful. And purple. I can't explain why I like purple, it just happened… I was trying to decide which color to use for this challenge when I read Garth's (Photomaginarium) comment under Gary's (gary's images @ studio g) color picture. He said that "nobody respectable would be caught dead liking orange." So of course I had to focus on orange! This one's for you, Garth! I guess I'm not respectable! :-)
I was struck by the contrast of my fall decorations against the snowy background.
I was delighted to discover this morning that I am no longer being forced into the new beta test, and have my "old" Flickr back! I left feedback and used up all of my votes, so hopefully they are listening this time, and the Beta format will remain forever optional!

Bumped this one up from 2013. A St Louis-bound intermodal train rolls up and down the hogbacks on Norfolk Southern's former Wabash main line near Tolono, Illinois, framed by a few cornstalks just missed by the harvester.
Photo taken near Lee Vining ,CA with a tripod mounted Nikon D7000 and a 35mm prime lense. I lightened the patches of trees at the top a little in Photoshop to make them stand out a bit more.
