Life in rural Wayne County ebs and flows with the seasons. The busy harvest season is nearly complete for this farm family whose farm is near the highest point in Indiana.

On our first morning we went to Blea Tarn which is not far located from where we had our b&b. This was one of the most beautiful little lakes I have seen there. The water was like a mirror with no movement in it and together with the morning sun and the colors of fall it created some awesome golden & blue color combinations. Needless to say that this place was crowded with other photographers ;)

Fall is finally here. I couldn't be happier.

I sandwiched a leaf inside a diploma frame and used A clamps to prop it up. A white foam board went behind, and I aimed a Sunpak with a Cactus remote trigger at it. Flash set to 1/16th power.

This fall leaves have been really pretty. Coming on strong though which means it will be gone in just a few short weeks if not sooner. I grabbed this shot outside on the creek at my cabin. One hour later the rain started and has been going for 24hours. Half these leaves are gone now.
This one was taken during a day trip with my wife this past Autumn. The location is just off the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1), in the foothills East of Canmore, Alberta. The view is West-Northwest. I particularly liked the layering of the colors and the DOF, so I thought I'd reprocess and re-release it.
Fall comes to So. Cal. pretty late in the year and trees not of the Palm variety are pretty scarce. Here's one in our very own parking lot with it's leaves turning.
Rain drops on a falling Gladiolus.
This Gladiolus flower was falling over right by the edge of my house with a ugly background. But no worries, it was time to play and experiment with an idea inspired by Kathleen Clemons. I created this "painting" as in-camera multiple exposure. The background is a hand painted watercolor wash that my mom created for me. It was my first use of mom's background but I think it worked out well and I'm going to have her paint me more in all kinds of colors.

Fall just seems to go by way too fast. For many of us it's our favorite season and we travel hundreds of miles to capture the "gold rush". Literally "here one day and gone the next" all were left with are our photos and fleeting memories as we anticipate next year. This photo represents my thoughts of Fall .... short, quick, fleeting memories …. like trying to hold water, it just slips right through your fingers.
Took this one on a fall afternoon on a farm out in the suburbs of Chicago. Its a 5 shot HDR, photomatix to combine exposures, CS4 with Topaz Filter.
Certainly not a masterpiece, but something I never get here in Florida..... colorful leaves!
I was in Kansas City on a business trip yesterday, and spotted this on the street. I really miss the colors of autumn. Growing up in Boston, we always had glorious fall colors everywhere. Florida stays green.... which I have to admit, I love when it's January!
Took this with the little Canon "point-and-shoot" that stays in my briefcase, for those moments that would slip away when I'm traveling without my Nikon DSLR.
I love the Canon "A" series, because it takes regular AA batteries, a "must" when it sits in my bag for months. Can you believe this was taken at 1/20 sec, handheld, with no flash right around sunset? The image stabilization in this little $129 camera is amazing for the price!
