Sedum 'Autumn Fire' (Stonecrop) spends most of the summer as green leaves, but in late summer and fall, a profusion of showy flower heads turn into deep rosy pink flowers. They attract lots of bees. The blue flower is an Agapanthus that is blooming far beyond our other ones. The background is a very healthy fuchsia bush with many blooms that are used frequently by humming birds.
These trees are called "exotics" because they are non-native. Native trees in New Zealand don't show much color change in the fall. Most of the colorful displays of exotics can be seen on South Island in the Queenstown area.
As Fall has eminently arrived we get to enjoy our gardens still. Weeding, pulling and cleaning of the gardens gives us a chance to enjoy the last of our plants and flowers. I like to capture the “Brilliance Of Fall” and save my favorites in photos. This surely is one. Thanks for viewing my work. Stay kind.
"Fall's Farewell:" I took this image the day after our first predicted overnight snow system, which for the most part missed most areas in town, although it certainly would have been cold enough. Overhead, the storm clouds were starting to depart, as many of the leaves on the trees had already done so themselves for the winter. Every year, the experience of fall for me has been the same: fleeting. The color can come to the trees overnight, and the winds can take it away in a second!
The only shot of a train I have with any sort of fall color is this one, a rebuilt standard cab with a new lease on life as an SD70ACC, pulling coal loads into Enola Yard on G track off the NS Pittsburgh Line.
Leaves have their time to fall,
And flowers will wither at the north-wind's breath,
Still I think there is beauty in them all
Even unrtil the flowers death.

I was just looking at some of my fall shots in Yosemite last year. Here is some afternoon light in the Valley after a recent snow. This shot was taken 11/12/20
Thanks for looking!

Just got back from a great weekend outing to chase the fall light and colors with jojo (imagesofdream) and Eric Dugan. I'm still pumping with adrenaline from all the epicness. It's crazy how we can go from 25 degrees at 10,000 ft in the morning to 90 degrees at around 5,000 ft. in the afternoon. Man what a rush! We got a lot of stuff to share with you. Shot the stars at Mono lake and will share those too. I'm very much mind boggled by my new gear and the sharpness and image quality it brings.
Nikon D810

f/22 @ 1/15 sec

Could have gotten sharper if I was on a tripod for this shot.
A pic I took last fall with a new more colorful edit. Hope you like it! :)

The fall colors in Fon Du Lac Co. are currently at their peak and are brighter than I've ever seen fall colors before. This photo was taken at Mauthe Lake campground.

Yep, I took this a couple of days ago....in the parking lot of our local Home Depot store!
The combination of dark clouds and a late afternoon sun made for some beautiful views in Fredericton today.
This one looks good on black - press L
