FFSC San Diego hosted the Third Annual Teen Job Fair. FFSC had 195 attendees looking for employment, volunteer, and educational information. There were 22 vendors some of which were hiring on the spot. This year FFSC added job preparedness workshops to take place during the job fair as well. The workshops included Resume Writing, Interpersonal Skills, and Dress for Success all of which were highly attended and raved about "This is so cool. I've never tied a tie before". Parents in attendance were urged to attend workshops designed to help them, help their teen find a job and manage their money, again highly attended. Vendors were appreciative and thankful for opportunity to meet their needs all while serving the military community.

Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway at NAS JRB Fort Worth

NAS JRB Fort Worth’s Fleet and Family Support Center hosted the Tarrant Area’s Food Bank Nov. 17, and “proudly provided over 300 military families from all branches a turkey dinner, to include a turkey and sides,” said FFSC Director, Lydia Miller.

The TAFB donated turkeys, canned goods, fresh vegetables, dairy products and more. With two lanes, vehicles were loaded with products by FFSC employees, military, and civilian volunteers. Installation’s Commanding Officer, CAPT Mark McLean handed out the first turkey!

Kaki Kidd, TAFB representative said, “I was so excited to be able to work with the FFSC to make this event happen. It took a lot of coordinating and communication, but military members and their families deserve the world! We wanted to do everything we could to ensure they have a delicious meal for Thanksgiving.”
