Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway at NAS JRB Fort Worth
NAS JRB Fort Worth’s Fleet and Family Support Center hosted the Tarrant Area’s Food Bank Nov. 17, and “proudly provided over 300 military families from all branches a turkey dinner, to include a turkey and sides,” said FFSC Director, Lydia Miller.
The TAFB donated turkeys, canned goods, fresh vegetables, dairy products and more. With two lanes, vehicles were loaded with products by FFSC employees, military, and civilian volunteers. Installation’s Commanding Officer, CAPT Mark McLean handed out the first turkey!
Kaki Kidd, TAFB representative said, “I was so excited to be able to work with the FFSC to make this event happen. It took a lot of coordinating and communication, but military members and their families deserve the world! We wanted to do everything we could to ensure they have a delicious meal for Thanksgiving.”

YOKOSUKA, Japan (June 29, 2017) – Participants from Commander, Navy Region Japan Fire and Emergency Services, NCTS Far East and Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka Fleet and Family Support Center volunteer at the Shinwa-Hashirimizu nursing home in Yokosuka. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment (BLT 1/6), 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU), NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), utilize the Field Food Service Center (FFSC) by preparing, serving, and consuming food while away from a stationary chow hall. The FFSC is able to be set up and taken down in about two hours with around 16 Marines; this allows Marines to get hot food no matter where they are while performing missions in support of NATO.
