An old photo with no date or location.
That large smokebox door gives (to me) the locomotive a Great Northern look but my knowledge of steam locomotives is limited.
Its a passenger train of at least 9 coaches so must be an important service / route.
From the lineside detail I still can not guess on a location. The telegraph poles are pretty substantial.
Any ideas anybody?

West Coast Express on the other side of town. Shortly after leaving from in front of Pacific Central Station (the old CNR station), West Coast Express is about to run backwards to the across Vancouver to Waterfront Station (the old CPR station).
I've been tinkering with the Polar Express. I have a few more changes to make to the tender, as well as some big changes for the passenger cars.
The biggest change was the fix in the design flaw of the lead truck. The truck is rather thin, compared to the rest of the loco, as well as the part of the loco directly above the truck. Because the locomotive swings so much in turns, the lead truck comes nearly entirely out from under the locomotive, and my attempts at allowing the lead truck to bare some weight (and also keep the wheels from dragging against the locomotive) had always caused derailments. It took a lot of trial an error before I was able to get the truck to go through curves without catching on the locomotive.
