Snowball Express XI was a great success as we welcomed nearly 1800 children and families of our fallen military heroes to Dallas for a week full of activities!
Beginning with the arrival of our generously donated charter flights by presenting sponsor American Airlines with all volunteer flight crews from all over the country, the families were taken by Greyhound motor coach and Patriot Guard escort to our host hotel, the Hilton Anatole Dallas. The hotel was filled with activities in the Teen and children lounges, and in the Gallo family lounge for the adults.
Day one began with our police and patriot guard escort to Fort Worth, completely shutting down highway 30 with a 48 school bus precession. Firefighters from Arlington lined the overpasses to wave and salute our families!
After arriving in Fort Worth, the annual Walk of Gratitude was held at the famous Fort Worth Stock Yards. The families were then treated to the Pawnee Bill Wild West Show at the Cowtown Coliseum. From there our families were taken to the Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base for a private concert by Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band in a Hangar on base. Gary put on a great show as always for the families and then handed out teddy bears for all the children. Food was provided by Texas Land and Cattle, and prepared with the help of Chef Robert Irvine.
Day 2 included a fun day at four separate game centers around DFW. That evening everyone enjoyed a great dinner and entertainment at Medieval Times Show & Dinner.
The third day included our annual Talent Showcase presented by the Texas Music Project, followed by another amazing closing show by our Chief Fun Officer, David Hira.

Op 9 en 10 Juli zijn de stoomtreindagen bij de ZLSM. Naast de eigen collectie waren er ook gast locomotieven aanwezig. 1 van de gasten was de SMMR die met de 2225 en 3 rijtuigen van de SSN kwam. Vanaf Utrecht via Rotterdam werd er naar Simpelveld gereden, waarbij men hier net onder Heeze vol in de zon voorbij komt.

Train Chartering arranges the charter / hire of the Maharajas' Express and other luxury trains, as well as the hire of private rail cars or carriages.
The Maharajas' Express began operations in March 2010. It is claimed to be the finest luxury train in India,a new build, with modern amenities (a/c, WiFi etc), Indian / fusion cuisine and classic décor.

This morning, I drove past Express Motor's Kenfig Hill depot and was reminiscing about the fleet of Fords once operated. In September, 1996, former Wallace Arnold, R1114 Plaxton Supreme IV LUA 263V was seen returning from a morning school run.

On June 2nd, in celebration of National Trails Day and the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System Act, the BLM, in cooperation with National Pony Express Association and Lincoln Highway Association representatives, led a guided tour of the Pony Express National Historic Trail through lands managed by the BLM Salt Lake Field Office. The Pony Express National Historic Trail was added to the National Trail System on August 3, 1992 and extends from Saint Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California. The trail commemorates the two year run of the Pony Express Mail Service. While the Pony Express only ran from 1860-1861, the trail is also linked to early western explorers, a stagecoach service, the first transcontinental telegraph, overland emigrants, and the first cross-country automobile route. Tour attendees experienced the trail through traces left by stagecoaches and riders, listened to cowboy poetry, learned about the history of the trail, and saw landscapes basically unchanged from 1860.

One of the L-PHE batch of Volvo B10Ms as used by Express Travel in the 1990s on National Express work. Not long after this photo was taken, Express Travel relinquished its NatEx work and started services in direct competition under the brand name 'The Extra Option'. The services were very under patronised and the venture didn't last long and ironically, with their tail between their legs Express Travel started to operate for National Express once again. This view shows a south polar Martian surface marked by numerous rounded, oval and irregular landforms. Rather than caves, these features are more likely shallow sublimation pits, scarps and residual mesas in ice-rich polar deposits, resembling the “Swiss-cheese terrain” seen in Mars’ south polar cap. Their repeated shapes and soft relief suggest surface erosion by CO₂ ice sublimation rather than open underground cavities.
