An eyecatching Grade II listed manor house in the village of Climping away across the fields

The Naturalis Biodiversitycenter in Leiden (NL) is a national museum of natural history and a research center on biodiversity. This is the museum entrance hall which provides a unique overview and access to all the different floor levels. The look and feel of the architecture breathes biological discovery. Personally it reminds me of my teenage years when I searched and collected fossils. Very eyecatching from the inside and outside is the elliptical window pattern.

Have a great Thursday...6 days to Christmas!

Only just managed the eight arches!

Stackpole National Trust, Pembrokeshire, Wales

E of Stackpole Home Farm.

Bridge built in 1797 to connect Stackpole Court and the Home Farm with the New Deer Park and Stackpole Quay. Built over a wier between ponds. Eight segmental arches of limestone masonry, with those at the centre slightly larger. The facing rings of the arches are in ashlar, otherwise arches are common stonework. Remedial iron ties inserted in places across from face to face. One arch has slight projecting keystones on each face, otherwise there are no decorative details. Carriageway only 3.3 m wide between rebuilt low parapets. The parapets end in slight wing walls.

Listed II* as a major eyecatching feature of the Stackpole Park. Listed also for group value with the other survivals of the Stackpole Court buildings.

Bathed in golden silence, the scarlet ibis stood like a flame resting on bark — a living ember between shadow and light.

No sound. No rush. Just this fleeting instant, where nature dared to burn with elegance.

or 'united colours of a grey city' ;)

Yesterday Matt and I went to Durant Nature Park in Raleigh to take pictures of fall colors. The colors were gorgeous- not yet in peek but almost there. I had never been to this park but really enjoyed walking around. Right when we arrived at the main lake, I saw this beauty shining so bright. 'Rainbows in Autumn' is the perfect title for this shot! Simply gorgeous.

The Malachite Butterfly attains its name due to its bright green coloured wings that resemble the colour of the malachite mineral. These butterflies usually live in citrus, mango and avocado orchards and in semi-deciduous or subtropical evergreen woodlands. The Malachite butterflies have a large wingspan from 8.3cm to 9.9cm. The caterpillars are a spiky black colour with red coloured markings, it becomes an emerald green chrysalis marked with pink colour and finally evolves into an eye catching adult butterfly.

Marcus Tullius Cicero.

Marcus Tullius Cicero (3 January 106 BC – 7 December 43 BC) was a Roman politician and lawyer, who served as consul in the year 63 BC. He came from a wealthy municipal family of the Roman equestrian order, and is considered one of Rome's greatest orators and prose stylists.

His influence on the Latin language was so immense that the subsequent history of prose, not only in Latin but in European languages up to the 19th century, was said to be either a reaction against or a return to his style. According to Michael Grant, "the influence of Cicero upon the history of European literature and ideas greatly exceeds that of any other prose writer in any language". Cicero introduced the Romans to the chief schools of Greek philosophy and created a Latin philosophical vocabulary (with neologisms such as evidentia, humanitas, qualitas, quantitas, and essentia) distinguishing himself as a translator and philosopher.
