I recently visited the Conde Charlotte Museum in Mobile, Alabama. It is a home that has been restored by the Colonial Dames of America in different period pieces to reflect the varied history of the Gulf Area under five flags: French, English, American, Confederate and again... American. We had a marvelous tour given by two wonderfully genteel ladies. I'm not usually the type to enjoy an elaborate tour of a home, complete with furniture details, but these ladies done a superb job - even keeping the interest of my seven year old!
