It was sailing during the late afternoon in early June from Scapa Pier through sheltered "Scapa Flow" to Stromness Town. This view was from near Orphir Village looking south towards the islands of "South Ronaldsay" on the left and "Flotta" - right.

By the way this was the "Thalassa" - a three-masted Dutch barquentine and it was both impressive and eye-catching under sail!

The male Roseate Skimmer Dragonfly (Orthemis ferruginea) is probably the most eyecatching of Odonata.

I only had a second (one shot) of this beauty (probably my favorite Dragon). I'm so weak and sickly ... I just couldn't hold my camera fast enough and steady enough. SO.......... heavily edited to save, I loved this shot on so many levels, the bokeh, the cobweb on the single stem ... and this pink beauty. The only one I've seen in what seems like forever. Not the best shot ever, but fun for me anyway. I hope you like it a little bit!

This very pleasing late-January afternoon photo was taken on Orkney's "West Mainland" between the villages of Birsay and Evie alongside the A966 main road.

It is possible that the stone promontory and fence-line are there to prevent livestock wading over to another farmer's field!

Virgin Trains East Coast Class 91, 91110 "Battle of Britain Memorial Flight" is seen passing Causeway Lane foot crossing with a passenger service. 1A28 11:14 Leeds - London Kings Cross.

Even though it looks good from many angles, this view of the twinstick 21 makes it a little bit more eyecatching... with its big behind and narrow nose, it looks like an arrow... a dirty and worn-out arrow, but an arrow nonetheless. LOVE this cake so much!....it's only a small 6" chocolate cake thats 4" deep and not as big or impressive as the cakes made by Becky from Consumed By Cake or Laura from Mamma Jamma Cakes (who I was totally inspired by!) but it's just as eyecatching all the same!

Hope I get to make a large tiered cake like this in the near future! :o)

This was a winter capture - taken between Christmas and New Year.

By the way the 12 Year Old Malt Whisky from that distillery is superb!

On the grounds of the Legion Of Honor overlooking the Golden Gate

Had wait for hours on the roof of my house until the sun comes out from its hideout. Did my best to capture the scene and wish you all would enjoy.

It was the bright orange against the green that caught my eye. ;-)

Has your city got one of those? Everyone now seems to be running them as a 'unique' tourist attraction (but also useful local transport)...
