This years art installation by Nicole Evans and Patrick Farrell. Always on my calendar of images to take throughout the year. Nicole always kindly lets me know when it's up and ready to view.
This is my second attempt at capturing this installation, my first attempt needed a lot of editing thanks to the sky being non existent. This time is was lovely and blue with just a single contrail
Here's what the website says and a link to if you are interested in fining out more about UCA:
'Still enjoying working with found objects, Evans and Farrell offer a sculpture using old bicycles heading skyward into the blue of North Grand Pre. As always, whimsy and illusion figure strongly in their installation'.
We walked past this community building at the Mission playground last weekend. The murals in the front was eyecatching. I stopped and took a snapshot with my Canon point and shoot.
Sie leuchten gelb und duften betörend nach Frühling, die Rapsfelder zwischen den Weinbergen an der Südlichen Weinstraße- man muss einfach hingucken und sich freuen!
Yellow rapeseed and a blue sky tells us a story of spring - after years I wanted to show you a picture from this eyecatching yellow field between vineyards at our wonderful winestreet.

The iconic Sonneveld House is located adjacent to the NIA and is included with its ticket. It's well worth finding time for as it's a perfectly preserved 1930's interior.
The stairs was particularly eyecatching as can be seen here from this view looking up. A bit like a rose maybe ?

From the Sonneveld House website : "Sonneveld House is one of the best-preserved houses in the Dutch Functionalist style. The villa was designed in 1933 by architecture firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt for Albertus Sonneveld, a director of the Van Nelle Factory. The architects designed a total concept in which architecture, interior and furnishings are perfectly coordinated and reinforce one another. Light and spacious, the house features numerous balconies and large areas of fenestration that offer views of the surrounding garden. Almost all items of furniture and lamps in the house were made by the firm of Gispen, some of them specially for the Sonnevelds. This customization reveals the family’s appreciation of luxury and comfort. Sonneveld House is therefore not a dogmatic example of functionalism, but a personal environment."

Wax, metal, heat, & rust make this texture. The art department uses these sheets of metal to put out fires on burning wax. The texture created is absolute art!

A stylized blue and white owl with simplified features flies through a forest of tall, striped trees. The background consists of geometric shapes with varying shades of green, adding depth to the woodland setting.
As we walked into the churchyard, I could not believe how close this robin came. This was the best shot we got of him, perched on a grave stone.
Pastel and black ink on paper, about 28" x 20".

Rome, Italy
Last weekend at night, I was wandering in the maze of narrow streets around the Pantheon when I found myself in a tiny alley and saw this eyecatching corner. I took a photo, but it was very dark and the result was poor. Today, despite the heat, I walked back to the area trying to locate the spot and hoping to find the car still there. I walked for several minutes, but wasn't able to retrace my steps until, all of a sudden, I made a turn and there it was, my yellow 500!
