The Yorkshire Dales towards North Yorkshire, up towards Grassington. An area of great beauty, no matter the season!

Sun and clouds so often playing the game of hide and seek, it makes for interesting patterns on the land and trees, a delight to the photographer!

Greens and Parks are under utilised. Excellent infrastructure and exquisite maintenance of greens and play equipments in neighborhood park in USA. It is not useless, but less used. Few picnikers and families are found only during week ends. Other days. It is for the Birds and Fishes to enjoy. Of course when we are there , we visit the parks regularly for morning walk., evening jog.

Many days, we were the only people present, and all the greens exclusively in our use. And we had few packs of water fowls to share the waterside.

My first reactions to seeing this image as a RAW file were mixed. This was the composition I was hoping for , but needing to shoot at iso800 with the 7D is never a good thing as the noise means a lot of detail lost. Secondly, the red hues on the top right were so intense that even on the RAW it looks like a badly done saturation boost job! Overall though, I think the colours pretty much represent how striking a few minutes of that dawn was even if the picture looks overly manipulated to the viewer!

Palacios in Madrid

The Casa Palazuelo, located between Mayor 4 and Arenal streets in Madrid. It was designed by the architect Antonio Palacios in 1919.

The intention of the project was not to stand out against the new buildings of Puerta del Sol after its expansion and the construction of its outlying hotels. For this, Palacios was inspired by the commercial architecture that was carried out in the United States at that time.

The building stands on a plot facing Calle Mayor to the south and Calle de Arenal to the north. This fact caused Palacios to design two different façades, giving more importance to the one on Calle Mayor. In them, it uses a monumental order of classic design in which large glazed strips alternate vertically along the surface, in them some elements that have disappeared today are missing, such as the female sculptures that frame the open openings in the towers that crown the ends of the facade to the main street. This severity contrasts with the design carried out inside. It has a quadrangular plan with unequal sides, on the axis there is a double-firing staircase and a central courtyard around which the four heights are distributed.

A dream come true for this perfectionist when I came across this tiny spider's web that was nearly perfect as well. The symmetry and care he took to create these tiny strands such that they not only capture other little creatures for a good meal, but the drink afterwards.

In a previous photo, I actually captures the spider collecting these individual drops of water to create a larger ball of fine drink.

Excerpt from the plaque:

Ruband (Bridal Veil), Tajikistan, West Badakhshan region, 19th century. Silk, embroidery on cotton foundation: This vibrantly coloured silk-embroidered bridal veil was produced in the mountainous highlands of Tajikistan. The veil would have only been used once, as a way to conceal the bride during the wedding celebration. Afterward, it would have been put away in a chest as an heirloom, thus accounting for its excellent state of preservation. The repeat bird motifs, found around the border and underneath the eye mesh, may echo the ancient Zoroastrian beliefs that continued hold sway in this region of Central Asia until the 19th century. The birds may be roosters, which Zoroastrians hold in high regard, or they may represent the simurgh, a mythical bird in Persianate cultures from antiquity to the Islamic period.

in the winter the irrigation ditches flood the bog with water thereby protecting the plants from frost as well as providing an excellent place for ice skating.

It took 20 years with 150.000 people to build a pyramid. Each stone is about 5 tons.

They placed about 250 stones a day, that's every 2 minutes a stone.

Staying on a hotel right next to a busy airport is something I have never done in my life. Luckily for me, a training that i decided to take a few months back took place on a hotel overlooking Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, world's busiest airport for more than a decade. And since my room had an excellent view of the take-off run, i decided to take advantage of it and try a few panning shots. This was the very first panning atempt for me and as you can imagine, i took quite a few photos with onle a couple of them being worth posting. Now I am not an aviation expert so I have literally no clue what this aircraft or other details about it so if anyone knows that kind of stuff, please feel free to provide info on a comment and I will add it to the description.

But when you give me love

When you give me love....

www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQ22QkXOxBg

I never walked near the edge

Used to fear falling

I never swam far from shore

Never tried the secret door

But when you give me love

I have no fear of heights,

No fear of the deep blue sea,

Although it could drown me,

I know it could drown me

I didn't wander in the woods

Used to fear the darkness

I didn't like getting deep

I was scared of what I couldn't keep

But when you give me love

No fear of the fall

No fear if it's with you that I fall

'cause nothing could break us,

No, nothing could break us, now
