I want to highlight the unfortunate situation of the elephants in Botswana at the moment...hundreds have been dying mysterious deaths and scientists, biologists and conservationists are all looking for the cause, to understand why this is occurring

please take a moment to watch the video I am sharing that was aired on one of our excellent research and investigative TV shows a few weeks ago..however there are scenes in here that may not be suitable for sensitive viewers!

Merry Christmas to all my Flickr friends!

While we were watching it at least four more herons briefly flew into view. They then all flew around the point of land!

Foto no crop. Abruzzo - PNALM

Deer. This male, one 15 points and the other more distant, an 18 points, if they are given of right reason, (to notice the wounds along the side assaulted by the flies), in the vain hope that the female in heat, that can be glimpsed lying in front of them, she succumbed to their flattery. Hidden under a camouflage sheet after 2 hours of walking in the mountains with the weight of the photo backpack on the shoulders. No crop photos. Abruzzo - PNALM

Sometimes it is not so easy to see past rust. But the mystery here prevails. What is before us is sometimes superficial.

One of the Picture Taken During my Recent Trip in Taiwan :)

The Walls of Ávila in central Spain, completed between the 11th and 14th centuries, are the city of Ávila's principal historic feature. The site was registered as a National Monument in 1884. In 1985, the old city of Ávila and its extramural churches were declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Wikipedia.

The 1883 cemetery sits at the base of the Oquirrh Mountain range; its the second oldest cemetery in the Salt Lake Valley. The cemetery overlooks the Salt Lake Valley and the Great Salt Lake.

Comments are off – just enjoy :-)

After an excellent week in Wells in Somerset we moved further South and West into Cornwall. It was a very different sort of week much less history and architecture but some splendid coastal walks . We were based in Carbis Bay near St Ives. When I booked the Carbis Bay cottage I had never heard of the place . However the G7 summit that was held there in June certainly put it on the map. Fortunately they had all long gone when we arrived . This is a shot from the beach at Carbis looking towards the town of St Ives which I guess is about two miles away

This was my first visit to Cornwall I have always been a little put off by its popularity and even in September there were too many people for my taste . The far west of Cornwall is about 420 miles from Hull the greatest distance we can travel in England from Hull . We are such a tiny country . Which is why I prefer France a much larger country with the same population and with a greater sense of space

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.

I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO WITHOUT ALSO LEAVING A COMMENT .

Excellent hiking and climbing near St. George, Utah

I might be "pakonifying" you with these panos, but just cant help it. It was so very beautiful.

In this Pano, the light was not smooth enough, i could not correct it :(

On the Kokan Side there were this clouds, and we were standing on top of them.....amazing feeling, i will be uploading some more of these shots :D

Maxim thanks for the camera :)

ST. MONANS 2.5 seconds exposure.

A favorite bird of mine for its colors and for the distinct feather contours on the body.

Y'day sighted a good number of them on trees. And as we went closer they flew away everytime. I had to position myself strategically for this shot, while my friend who was exploring some butterflies nearby walked towards these birds unaware of their presence.

And I got a delightful shot - 3/4 shots actually before it disappeared behind some bushes. Next time should get even closer :)

The day was raining with brief interruptions in between, so the greens were quite saturated and made for excellent backdrop.

Am off tomorrow morning for a 4-day Rainy season birding trip in the jungles - Hope I get some luck!

Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.

Happy shiny weekend my friends !

...Someday I'll wish upon a star

and wake up

where the clouds are far behind me

Where troubles melt like lemon drops

away above the chimney tops

that's where you'll find me....

(E.Y. Harburg)

Than smoke and mist who better could appraise

The kindred spirit of an inner haze?
