Die Chesa Planta wurde 1595 von der Familie von Salis als stattliches Patrizierhaus erbaut und 1760 zum Doppelhaus erweitert. Der Bau ist ein eindrucksvolles Beispiel für ein Engadiner Aristokratenhaus.
Im Jahre 1817 ging das Gebäude in den fortan namensgebenden Besitz der Samedener Familie Von Planta über. Diese überführte den Bau 1943 in eine Stiftung Fundaziun Planta-Samedan.
Heute beherbergt die Chesa Planta das Kulturarchiv Oberengadin, das mit einer stattlichen Anzahl von Fotografien, Büchern, Plänen, Herbarblättern und Kunst von der reichen Oberengadiner Kulturgeschichte zeugt. Zudem ist in der Chesa Planta auch die Wohnkultur des 18. und 19. Jhs. erlebbar. Eine rätoromanische Bibliothek ist ebenfalls im Haus untergebracht.
Das Planta Haus Samedan zierte die offizielle 20 Rp. Briefmarke aus der Serie Baudenkmäler der Schweiz, Ausgabe 1968.

Nidificant estival distribuït arreu del territori de manera irregular, segons trobi ambients adequats per nidificar (llacunes, estanys litorals, marges de riu, aiguamolls amb bona cobertura vegetal...). Localment comú en algunes zones humides, especialment al delta de l'Ebre. Migrador comú per tot el territori.

IDENTIFICACIÓN
13-14 cm. Dorso pardo, con tinte rojizo en el obispillo; partes inferiores blanco ocráceo, con garganta blancuzca; cola pardo uniforme; axilares beige y patas de color pardo claro; con cerdas en la comisura de la boca.
ESPECIES SIMILARES
Similar al carricero tordal, que es mucho más grande (longitud 16-20 cm); de igual tamaño son la buscarl unicolor, que carece de cerdas en la comisura de la boca; el zarcero omún con las axilares de color amarillento y
el zarcero pálido, con las rectrices externas terminadas en una mancha clara.
SEXO
Sexos similares, no siendo posible diferenciarlos por el plumaje.
EDAD
Pueden reconocerse hasta 3 tipos de edad:
Juveniles con plumaje nuevo (examinar plu- mas de vuelo y cola); iris gris oscuro; patas de color gris-azulado; puntos negros en la lengua, al menos hasta primeros de octubre.
2º año en algunos ejemplares que tienen el iris de color pardo-oliva.
Adultos con plumaje desgastado; iris pardo- gris; patas pardo claro y lengua sin marcas.
En primavera, después de la muda posnupcial/postjuvenil no es posible datar la edad utilizando el plumaje.

HÁBITAT:
Es una especie típica de humedales provistos de amplia vegetación donde criar (carrizales, cañaverales, mimbreras...). Está más confinado a los carrizales puros que el resto de Carriceros Acrocephalus spp. Durante la migración no es raro observarlo en arbustos no ribereños.
COSTUMBRES:
El Carricero Común es un pájaro que pasa casi todo el tiempo oculto entre la espesa vegetación, siendo con frecuencia su voz quien delata su presencia. Su pose característico sobre los tallos de las cañas o de los carrizos consiste en tener un pie recogido sobre el cuerpo y el otro estirado. Sin embargo, reposa de modo habitual en los mimbres y otros arbustos. Se alimenta de insectos, arañas y pequeños moluscos que captura en las cercanías del agua.
NIDIFICACIÓN:
Esta especie puede criar semicolonialmente, aunque con una cierta separación entre los nidos. A partir de mayo, la pareja construye de forma conjunta el nido, que cuelgan entre los carrizos. En su interior, la hembra deposita de 4 a 5 huevos, que son incubados durante 12-13 días por ambos progenitores. Una parte de la población puede optar por una segunda puesta.
MOVIMIENTOS MIGRATORIOS:
Especie estival en España. Su llegada se efectúa hacia finales de abril y comienzos de mayo. Entre septiembre y octubre regresan a sus cuarteles de invierno situados en África ecuatorial.
