Natural white coral pedestal container decorated with starfish seashells, scented plumeria candles, and natural looking silk floral stems. This is a simple arrangement I made, and just wanted to emphasize the three elements "Man, Earth, and Heaven".
While traveling to the Stokksnes peninsula located in Southern Iceland, we came upon this impressive mountain emphasized by steep slopes and a widest spectrum of natural colors.

Consonance in photography refers to the repetition or similarity of visual elements within a photograph, such as color, shape, texture, or pattern. This repetition creates a sense of harmony and unity within the image, drawing the viewer's eye and creating a cohesive visual experience. Consonance can be used to create a sense of rhythm or movement within an image, and can also be used to emphasize certain elements or themes within a photograph.
Some time ago, when I was on the road in the Swabian Alb looking for photo motifs, I noticed the wind turbines and the atmosphere. Just at the moment I was taking pictures, several of the wind turbines were in sync.

Another version of this image was posted earlier where the women and their kimonos are emphasized against a muted background.
Thanks for viewing.
I must have looked ridiculous, lying flat on my belly to get the shot. Thankfully, there weren't many people about to have a laugh.
I cropped some repetitive sky and bridge off to emphasize the lines.
Kinkaku-ji "Temple of the Golden Pavilion"), officially named Rokuon-ji, lit. "Deer Garden Temple"), is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan.
The garden complex is an excellent example of Muromachi period garden design. The Muromachi period is considered to be a classical age of Japanese garden design. The correlation between buildings and its settings were greatly emphasized during this period. It was a way to integrate the structure within the landscape in an artistic way. The garden designs were characterized by a reduction in scale, a more central purpose, and a distinct setting.
A minimalistic approach was brought to the garden design, by recreating larger landscapes in a smaller scale around a structure.
It is designated as a National Special Historic Site and a National Special Landscape, and it is one of 17 locations comprising the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto World Heritage Site. It is also one of the most popular buildings in Japan, attracting a large number of visitors annually.
This was given the panoramic slice to emphasize the power of the horizontal planes in this photograph. There is a stronger sense of the clouds coming at you in this version than the earlier non-panoramic version.

Detail of the virgin Mary statue behind the high altar. A special design feature is the window behind the Madonna's head, the window acts as a halo, an effect emphasized by the golden rays emanating from the window.
St. Maria (St. Mary) is a Wallfahrtskirche (pilgrimage church) located in Thalkirchen, in the south of Munich. The church was built in Gothic style around 1390, replacing a Romanesque predecessor. The steeple still has some late Romanesque features. In 1693-1698 the church was converted to Baroque style, the appearance of the Madonna with the windew behind is a Rococo work by Ignaz Günther dating to 1759-1769.

The Church of the Intercession on the Nerl, a UNESCO world heritage site.
When you write and say about this temple, usually cite the words of Igor Grabar, "the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl near Vladimir is not only the most perfect temple, created in Russia, but also one of the greatest monuments of world art".
The temple was erected in one year in 1165 by Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky.
In the days of his "youth" the temple looked different, and the hill-a pedestal, is the work of human hands.
The underground part of the temple is 5,30 m . At the mouth of the Nerl rose artificial hill, which has become the pedestal for the Church of the Intercession and protect it from the treacherous waters of the spring. The hill was covered with a shell of white stone slabs with gutters and stairs leading down to the Marina.
The proportions of the temple are unusually graceful and beautiful. Often this temple is compared with the image of maiden Here everything is directed on achieving maximal effect of slenderness and height. Many parts, subtle, very delicate, emphasize the vertical axis of the construction.

It's been such a long time since we've had a genuine pea soup fog around here and on Sunday we were blanketed all day. I was finally persuaded to get my camera out of the bag after almost a year and it was the thick fog that did it.
I know many people like cemeteries for different reasons. I like them because they demonstrate an important and inevitable aspect of the life cycle. It's also because reading the inscriptions makes me wonder about what made up the life of the one who has shuffled off this mortal coil.
Graveyards are generally peaceful places and deliberately designed to be so. The fog seemed to emphasize that peace as well as a kind of timelessness, so there, in the quiet, I couldn't help but think while the people buried there may have finished with this life they are certainly busy in their next one--another part of the cycle.
Thus, the great hope: life goes on.

"The light fades but the gods remain."
I could have borrowed that title from Australia's premier artistic photographer, Bill Henson. I encourage you to check out the links below to his exhibition and book. Whilst his evocative work emphasizes shadows and darkness, there's enough light there to suggest a Presence that remains. The book is wonderful by the way.
In this photograph I am attempting to create a similar mood. If you enlarge this one and lose yourself inside the scene you'll see some fragments of light - and civilisation(?). That's the Launceston Grammar School on the top of the hill to the right. But in the end, darkness overwhelms our human works. And yet... and yet, the Light remains hidden only to reappear in the dawn. The philosophical term for that is "Anatheism". The idols will fall and we wait for the emergence of True Spirit.

Meanwhile, it has started to drizzle and the desolation and gloom of the western coast of the island are emphasized by this.
The devastation of the sea since the island was returned to nature becomes clear here.
The sea has mercilessly struck back here and recaptured what humanity has taken from it.
The large chunk in the foreground is not a piece of rock, but a large piece of the bottom of the salt marsh that has been torn off the sand by the fiercing waves.
Along the line of the surf during high tide there are also pieces of the former salt marsh, but these are further crunched at high tide and stronger wind. On the side of the piece in the foreground you can clearly see the remnants of the root systems of the former vegetation....
It is the presence of milky fog that allows me to control the scenography here and emphasize the depth of the scene.
For a separate the foreground and theatrical backdrop as much as possible.
With a closed aperture, which is necessary here, this can be done with only a few tricks.
For example, in cinema we used pyrotechnics - the effect of smoke and spotlights.
in general, I am satisfied with the result of the picture, given that it is from a boat that rocks and floats with the current, and the stream moves along the bridge. A kaleidoscope in one word, changing rhythms every second..
- just have time to compose your composition !

A more closer look of "Pattern" (see first comment box). The texture reminds me of stone, so I did some processing to emphasize that.
The paper I used is 'glassine', which is great photogenic paper because of its translucency.

Schokland the former island reclaimed from much of the former "Zuiderzee" lies like a fish on dry land in the middle of the Northeast Polder, and is seen worldwide as the symbol of the Dutch struggle against the water and is included in the World Heritage List of the Unesco.
The island is fringed with a planted row of trees that emphasize the former contours of the island.
The island consists of peat soil and now the island is no longer enclosed by the seawater, this peat soil is increasingly sinking in and becomes part of the sea clay of the Northeast Polder.
The island has a tragic history as the ferocious former Zuiderzee swept away pieces of coastline further and further, bit by bit.
The seawall consisted of a single basalt piece of dike here and there, while the vast majority was formed by a wooden stockade.
The very poor population lives mainly from fishing, but there were also a small numbers of farms.
The situation got very bad when the pile worm made its appearance in the Zuiderzee, when it was taken by the East Indies sailing ships of the United East India Company. This worm practically ate away the wooden pilings around the island.
The situation became untenable, and when the island was inundated by a violent storm and storm surge in 1825, there were calls to evacuate the island.
However, it was not untill 1859 that King William III declared the order to evacuate the island by now being able to ensure safety was impossible and the povery of the population was dire.
Until the closure and reclamation, Schokland remained untill 1942 in existence with a few more employees and their families of the Department of Public Works including a harbor master and a lighthouse keeper.
We are standing here at the former harbor that was reconstructed until recently and look across the old path toward the harborlight, where there is the old lightkeeper's house and the small building where on the roof the foghorn was mounted.
This harbor was an important point of orientation for the busy shipping traffic to the route to the mouth of the river "IJssel" and the very important town of "Kampen".
During stormy weather the harbor was a port of refuge for the ships that sometimes remained at the quays for days........
Because of some comments, I want to emphasize that this is not a wild snake. It is taken in Oslo Reptile Park in 2013.

Standing in defiance of the desert-like landscape that surrounds it, Uyuni occupies a desolate corner of southwestern Bolivia. Mention Uyuni to a Bolivian and they will whistle and emphasize harto frío (extreme cold). Yet despite the icy conditions, the town has a cheerful buzz about it, with hundreds of travelers passing through every week to kick off their tour of Salar de Uyuni or the Southwest Circuit.
Founded in 1889 by Bolivian president Aniceto Arce, Uyuni remains an important military base. Tourism and mining are the other major sources of employment in the town. The world’s largest lithium reserve – about 100 million tons – lies beneath the neighboring salt flat, and could potentially fuel all the smart phones and electric cars the world could build over the next century. While work on building extraction and processing facilities has been proceeding slowly, expect more and more mining activity near Uyuni in the coming years.

Five locomotives power the eastbound train that is about to cross the Thompson on a truss bridge and dive directly into a curved tunnel in the heart of this rugged canyon.
Minimalist photography
is a form of photography that is distinguished by extreme, austere simplicity. It emphasizes spareness and focuses solely on the smallest number of objects in the composition process. Minimalist photographers usually focus solely on one particular subject, rather than an abundance of color, patterns and information. ( wikipedia )
I love learning new stuff in photography, and some techniques requires allot of time to learn and understand..... witch I have a hard time to do . This is minimal as can be ( I think)
While I was working with the holly berries I noticed that the theme for Crazy Tuesdays was "Red" and that got me thinking of a shot that really emphasized the red color of the berries. I tried a few different things but with each series of shots I moved further down the rabbit hole in my study of making larger and larger focus stacks. This grouping of berries measures about 1.75 in. wide X 1.5 in. tall, but has about 1 in. of depth and the leaf is on the diagonal making for a tricky focus stack. I tried a few different techniques but finally decided to bite the bullet and try something I've been thinking about. Instead of marking the front and back focus on the lens and then turning the focus ring a bit for each exposure I would take shots wherever I wanted fine detail in the final image. The technique involved shooting every detail and edge for each berry and leaf and led to way more individual shots (31 in total). I was surprised that it worked out pretty well with fewer areas to fix in post. This shot is the result after aligning, stacking and processing in Photoshop.

In 2010 we had a pretty cold winter. The Wadden Sea with its interesting structures is always interesting for me. I think the ice emphasizes these structures.
I took this picture with my old D70.
It was somewhat comical and yet actually endearing to see these five Hoatzin lined up like this at a creek near the lowest part of the renowned Manu Road in Peru. The repetition serves to emphasize their unique appearance. The range of the Hoatzin encompasses the basins of the Amazon and Orinoco rivers and some tributaries in north-central South America.
I have found this abandoned kitten in a bramble bush.
Its stare emphasized fear. It do not know that have found a family.

This little lady landed on a sunflower in my garden. It's a good thing that I always have my camera nearby! I cropped this image a bit to emphasize the butterfly. Isn't she pretty!
More fun with Spring showers and rain drops. An experimental technique using intentional camera movement with second curtain flash to create a drizzling rain effect. I felt that monochrome better emphasized the atmospheric quality and drops. Does this effectively create a sense of movement with the falling rain? Happy Monochrome Bokeh Thursday!
I picked this crop to emphasize all the salmon swimming past this bear. This was downriver a ways from camp and these bigger boars have the whole system fine tuned to get the most with the least expenditure of effort.
This guy found a spot to stop and let his belly digest the previous 20 salmon he'd probably recently eaten while the salmon you see (the red stripes in the water) get to move on and live another day. Or not.
Interesting how sometimes random choices made by others can affect us in different ways: In little ways, good or bad, sometimes in big ways, good or bad.
Nothing profound here, just random thoughts
The missing exif data here isn't on purpose. I just forgot to reset one of my Lightroom settings while exporting images.
I was holding this vehicle for Teresa, having pointed out its fine condition and options, including the breezy, natural, and environmentally friendly air conditioning, but she seems to have lost interest.

I constructed this pair composite from images I took in 2021. I usually don't make a big deal about emphasizing copyright protection and enforcement but this unfortunately needs to be emphasized especially for my composite work.
The old port of Genoa always knows give emotions especially at sunset.
This old picture every time I see him I always like how the first time for the warm colors that are reflected in the mirror of water but also for pastel colors in the entire image. I wanted panoramic cut to emphasize the boats on the side of coming together in a diagonal to the Lantern symbol of the city.
Revised version from the original of my photograph "Solitude - Soledad" album "Minimalist landscape" ... In this version I wanted to emphasize that state of isolation in which a person is alone accompanied only by his thoughts. ..A state of mind that sometimes we have all wanted ... For this I have played in the edition with the lights and the tones .... Well, and some other things! :)

Music "Libertango" by Grace Jones:
I saw these beautiful drums at the NAMM international music exhibition in Sokolniki. Moscow. Russia
Drum set - a set of drums, cymbals and other percussion instruments, adapted for the convenient playing of a drummer. Commonly used in jazz, blues, rock and pop.
The main function of a drummer as part of the rhythm section of a musical group is to create a rhythmic pattern. The rhythm is based on the alternation of the low sound of the big drum and the high, sharp sound of the snare drum. In addition to this main function, the drummer decorates, emphasizes the main accents and changes to the melody. In this case, mainly plates are used, especially crash, or shot on a snare drum. Some pieces include drum solos, while other instruments fade into the background.
A telephoto lens can be put to good use even in a slot canyon. Here I wanted to emphasize the texture of the foreground slice of sandstone and throw the background slightly out of focus. The 70-200 mm was well-suited.

The sculpture was constructed by the Chilean sculptor Mario Irarrázabal at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level. Its exaggerated size is said to emphasize human vulnerability and helplessness.
The sculpture also was meant to convey emotions related to injustice, loneliness, sadness and torture.
The work has a base of iron and concrete, and stands 11 metres (36 ft) tall. Funded by Corporación Pro Antofagasta, a local booster organization, the sculpture was inaugurated on 28 March 1992.
It has since become a point of interest for tourists traveling Route 5, which forms part of the Pan-American Highway.
