Ho voluto accentuare il contrasto tra la pesantezza del cielo e le tonalità calde della barca. Una scena apparentemente semplice, ma dove materia colori e atmosfera raccontano il passare del tempo.
It was a great scenery with beautiful light and a dramatic sky, but I had no camera at hand. So I used my cellphone to capture this scenery.
I ventured down to Barton on Sea yesterday as there are quite a few pathways further up from the rocks where you can shoot from in relative safety.
I went for some grey moody photos but the sky had other ideas and a beautiful sunset unfolded.
However it was challenging, the horizontal winds were relentless and I was faced with the usual challenges. I had my tripod down low and was wiping my lens constantly, it wasn't actually raining but there was seaspray flying everywhere. There was a beautiful dramatic afterglow but unfortunately most of the shots by that point were either cloudy or just not sharp enough. I will revisit them in a few days, but I think most of them will have to go!.
Some believe that there is a magical time of day when water slows to a wonderful blur.
The Snake River at sunset.
The eagle, frozen over the city under the heavy sky, turns here not just into a sculpture, but into the image of a silent force.

Overlooking the Old Course, the historic stone buildings of St Andrews stand as enduring symbols of a town shaped by history, learning, and the game of golf. Beneath a dramatic Scottish sky, this timeless view captures the character and spirit that have made St Andrews admired throughout the world.
Moorlandschaft in Grautönen

The stark white brick wall stands as a strong and resolute bastion against the relentless elements of the North Sea. Anchored securely to this solid surface, the ornate Gothic lantern of dark wrought iron holds its position, its singular, warm bulb defiant against the encroaching teal darkness of the maritime storm. The atmosphere is dense with salt and electricity, a heavy shroud that wraps around the lamp’s filigree as it overlooks the churning, cold depths of the northern waters.
In a sudden, violent rupture of the sky, a jagged bolt of lightning strikes the distant horizon, momentarily turning the sea into a mirror of liquid fire. This "Heaven’s Fire" illuminates the raw power of the ocean, casting a dramatic silhouette of the lantern against the chaotic clouds. Despite the thunderous roar that reverberates through the sky, the lamp, supported by its unyielding wall, remains a steadfast beacon—a poetic contrast between man-made light and the untamed brilliance of the storm.
