(couldn't resist posting another prairie chicken sparring shot)
This was from the morning gathering at the lek* - these are Lesser Prairie Chickens (they don't have as much brown in them). They share territory in some areas.
*A Lek is a hill/or rise area where birds and animals gather to do their courting and sparking!

Trying to get as much as possible from a direct look. No dreamy reds and dark, mysterious sun disks here. Just light, widely seen.

There was a great orange horizon when we arrived at Burnham Overy staithe to catch the dawn colours which cast some interesting light on the old building.

Direct sunlight reflected by face and camera, then via a mirror reflected back to the camera that registers only the strength of light, not its colours. The three points of interaction between photons and surfaces (face/camera, mirror, lens/sensor) must have reduced and modified the incoming light. Even when not taking into account that the final image becomes an image only when constructed in our brain, on a purely physical level the image can not possibly be a full representation of what is out there. It is a diminished representation - not of what "is" out there, but what "has been". Time is passing. The moment has gone. Photography is totally different from, say, painting. In painting, the act of painting is always in the present tense and the light is not received, it is created. Leica M246 Mono, Voigtlander AS 2.8/90, Olympus electronic viewfinder.
A direct unfiltered experience of awareness. More than pictures, New Topographics images were a way of discovering the presence of humans occupation within the landscape.

Op 1 februari 2025 kwamen de Eurocity en Eurocity direct moeizaam op gang, zodat de eerste Traxx die bij Nispen op de foto kon worden gezet, er een van Crossrail was. De 186 447 passeerde met een containertrein richting België de kleumende fotograaf, die verlangde naar zijn verwarmde autostoel.
Le quartier d'Esch-Belval au Luxembourg depuis la campagne française (Russange en Moselle)
La frontière entre la France et le Grand-Duché de Luxembourg s'étend sur 73 kilomètres de longueur, au nord-est de la France et au sud du Luxembourg.
Elle débute à l'ouest au tripoint Belgique-France-Luxembourg à la jonction de la commune belge de Aubange (Province de Luxembourg), de la commune française de Mont-Saint-Martin (département de Meurthe-et-Moselle) et de la commune luxembourgeoise de Pétange (canton d'Esch-sur-Alzette). Ce point est situé sur la Chiers.
Elle suit ensuite une direction générale vers l'est jusqu'au tripoint Allemagne-France-Luxembourg à la jonction de la commune allemande de Perl (land de la Sarre), de la commune française d'Apach (département de la Moselle) et de la commune luxembourgeoise de Schengen (canton de Remich). Ce point est situé sur la Moselle.

De nuevo Atxabiribil, Sopelana (Bizkaia), en esa tarde de nubes grises potentes, viendo otro angulo de los posibles. Utilice un filtro ND 1.2 de Tiffen y un degradado 0.9 de Lee para dar ese aire de "fin del mundo" en el cielo. Con Photoshop aumente contraste y toque los niveles un pelin ya que estaba bastante bien de luz para mi gusto. Aumento de nitidez y filtro ruido para el cielo.
Another month has passed and the PLPR is back to repeat its circuits of Scotland to identify any potential track defects. DRS have the contract to provide traction for these services in Scotland and on this occasion they provided RETB-fitted 37402 and 37419 (again - seemingly a favourite for these trains!)
The train is seen just north of Blackford with 1Q77 from Mossend to Inverness.

68004 was allocated to work the 4S45 1826 Daventry to Coatbridge but has been caught in a temporal time flux anomaly with 66543 which was working the 4M56 1257 London Gateway to Garston.
The time space anomaly took place alongside the Oxford canal at Ansty.
