La chapelle Saint-Léon a été construite à l'emplacement de l'ancien donjon, en style néo-roman, pour être consacrée en 1894 et dédiée à Saint-Léon. Une fontaine Renaissance ornée de la statue de Léon IX, natif de la place, décore cette place centrale du village entourée de la chapelle St-Léon IX et des restes du château de Saint-Léon-Pfalz des comtes d'Eguisheim.
Ce village se trouve à 5 km au sud-ouest de Colmar et peut être rejoint par la route nationale 83 en direction de Rouffach. Il s'étend sur 339 hectares répartis sur les collines peu pentues et bien exposées au soleil du Schlossberg qui ont permis la plantation de vignes. Serré dans trois cercles concentriques de remparts médiévaux, ce village, qui marie l’austérité de ses fortifications avec une architecture civile souriante, offre une étape agréable sur la Route des Vins. Ce village a d'ailleurs été classé « Village préféré des Français » en 2013.
C'est Eberhard, petit-fils d'Aldaric, troisième duc d'Alsace et neveu de sainte Odile, qui construit le premier château d'Eguisheim. C'est autour de ce château que se développe le village d'Eguisheim sous forme de résidence fortifiée, vers 720.
Eguisheim est aussi le village natal supposé de Bruno d'Eguisheim-Dagsbourg, ancien évêque de Toul, qui devint en 1049 pape sous le nom de Léon IX. Il est né en 1002, probablement au château du Haut-Eguisheim. Il était le fils de Hugues IV d'Eguisheim.

Raymond Hill t/a Fereneze Travel 8 buses
William Hutchison t/a Travel Direct 6 buses
Pheonix Buses 12 buses.
The actual vehicles could move from fleet to fleet as required.

Sister locos 37259, 37409 "Lord Hinton" and 37688 make up the quartet of 'Tractors', along with Class 57/0 No. 57010 which was collected from Derby en route.
Daventry DRS to Doncaster IPort. passes through Water Orton on a rather circuitous route.66426 with the 4E49. It made sense when I looked at RTT !!

Actualmente no hay relación directa con la ciudad condal, pero todo podría cambiar en pocos años, con la electrificación de la línea Medina - Salamanca, va a ser casi seguro que habrá un tren 121 o 120 entre la capital del Tormes y Barcelona, ya que muchos maquinistas charros están habilitándose para estos trenes modernos.
También hay rumores sobre la eliminación del TH Surex, se mantendría la rama del "Lusi" que podría realizar el servicio Lisboa - Salamanca - Madrid - Barcelona, y así poder enlazar en la capital catalana con un TGV, pero ya veremos como acaba esto...
El tren de la foto llevaba al final de la composición un coche cama 7100.

Direct Rail Services Class 66s 66426 and 66434 cruise through Kings Norton with the 14:38 (87 early) Bridgwater F.D to Crewe Coal Sidings (Drs) nuclear flasks, the first of the year from the Somerset village. Sheds also worked the last Bridgwater of 2016, I hope that they don't become a recurring theme.
It looks like a little bead, but it is alive.
