97304 “John Tiley” and 97303 approach Commins Coch on the 6C70 08:52 Crewe Basford Hall to Talerddig, with ballast for the worksite near Machynlleth.
Denver & Rio Grande Western eastbound Rio Grande Zephyr led by EMD F9A locomotive # 5771 is seen rounding a curve as the morning sun breaks through the clouds and the rain stops in Utah, Summer 1980. You can see the wet highway on the right side of the photo. This was a real on and off day for photography because there were so many changes in the weather conditions along the route back to Denver. There appears to be one lone vehicle driving along the highway. The sunlight is highlighting the locomotives and the combine. One small thing that I like about this photo is the manner in which the telegraph pole insulators are being lite up by the sunlight. Again in this photo there is the reflection of the locomotives and combine on the dome coach side panels and window.

New Haven Railroad Cedar Hill Yard with numerous diesel electric locomotives being seen at New Haven, Connecticut, 1967. In this scene you have locomotives from FM, ALCO & EMD, however; there are no GE or Baldwin locomotives present. In the left side foreground is a FM H16-44 locomotive 593, an early 1950 built version of this locomotive series with the Art Deco design, my favortie of the series. In the background you can see one of the old roundhouse buildings that is no longer used. Then in the middle of the photo you can see the sanding towers.

Dit jaar met mijn oudste zoon naar het jaarlijks evenement 'Sporen naar het verleden' geweest. Naast de eigen locs, waren dit jaar stoomloc Tom van Hoogovens Stoom IJmuiden en loc 8 Ooievaar van de SHM aanwezig. Ook maakte de omC 909 enkele ritten. Dit jaar werden ook meerdere goederentreinen gereden, waar voor mij de nadruk op lag. Het was weer een erg geslaagd evenement.
In diesem Jahr bin ich mit mein ältester Sohn zum jährlichen Veranstaltung der SGB "Sporen naar het verleden" gefahren. Neben den eigenen Locs waren in diesem Jahr die Dapflok Tom der Hoogovens Stoom Ijmuiden und die loc 8 Ooievaar der SHM zum Gast. Daneben machte die Omc909 einige fahrten. In diesem Jahr wurden auch mehrere Güterzüge gefahren, die besonderes meine Interesse hatten. Es war wieder eine sehr erfolgreiche Veranstaltung
This year, I went with eldest son to the annual event "Sporen naar het verleden". In addition to its own locs, the guests of this year were the steam locomotive Tom of the Hoogovens Stoom IJmuiden and the locomotive 8 "Ooievaar" of the SHM. Next to these the Omc909 also made some rides. Several freight trains were also running, which had my mayor interest. It was a very successful event.
97302 and 97303 sit at Newtown on the return leg of the retimed 3S71 RHTT 17:20 Coleham to Machynlleth, the first of the evening. The second RHTT to Machynlleth this evening left Coleham at 23:20. Evidently Network Rail like hosing money around like the water jets off the RHTT.

Dit jaar waren dat de SHM 5 ' Enkhuizen', de SHD 2205, de CREW 2454 Plan U stel 151, de SSN 23 023 en de eigen locs SGB 22 'Otter' en 264 'Sik'. Daarnaast stonden op het depot in Goes de SGB omC 910 en omC 909, CREW 2454 C9002 'Jaap', SHD 302282 'Anneke' en SHD Plan D 60 84 978 1 005-1 Meetrijtuig CTO ter bezichtiging. Genoeg te zien dus. Het was schitterend weer en we hebben ons dus weer prima vermaakt.

This year these were the SHM 5 'Enkhuizen', the SHD 2205, the CREW 2454 Plan U set 151, the SSN 23 023 and their own locomotives SGB 22 'Otter' and 264 'Sik'. In addition, at the depot in Goes were the SGB omC 910 and omC 909, CREW 2454 C9002 'Jaap', SHD 302282 'Anneke' and SHD Plan D 60 84 978 1 005-1 Measuring carriage CTO on display. So plenty to see. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time again.
Jedes Jahr organisiert der Stoomtrein Goes Borsele (SGB) die Veranstaltung Spuren in die Vergangenheit. Dann kommen verschiedene Dampf- und Diesellokomotiven bzw. Züge zum Einsatz. In diesem Jahr waren dies die SHM 5 „Enkhuizen“, die SHD 2205, die CREW 2454 Plan U Set 151, die SSN 23 023 und unsere eigenen Lokomotiven SGB 22 „Otter“ und 264 „Sik“. Darüber hinaus standen die SGB omC 910 und omC 909, CREW 2454 C9002 „Jaap“, SHD 302282 „Anneke“ und SHD Plan D 60 84 978 1 005-1 Messwagen CTO im Depot in Goes zur Besichtigung bereit. Es gibt also viel zu sehen. Das Wetter war wunderschön und wir hatten wieder eine tolle Zeit.

In de zomervakantie van 2023 moesten mijn vrouw en ik wegens familie omstandigheden halsoverkop naar Aberdeen, Schotland. Tijdens een van de laatste dagen daar, bleek de Caledonian Railway een speciaal evenement te hebben; de Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Diverse door diesellocomotieven getrokken treinen reden tussen Brechin en Bridge of Dun. Op diverse plekken langs de lijn heb ik gefotografeerd en natuurlijk ook zelf weer een ritje gemaakt. Toch nog een geslaagde dag geweest.
During the summer holidays of 2023, my wife and I had to rush to Aberdeen, Scotland, due to family circumstances. During one of the last days there, the Caledonian Railway turned out to be having a special event; the Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Several diesel locomotive-hauled trains ran between Brechin and Bridge of Dun. I took photographs at various places along the line and of course also went for a ride myself. Still a successful day.
Während der Sommerferien 2023 mussten meine Frau und ich aus familiären Gründen eilig nach Aberdeen, Schottland, reisen. An einem der letzten Tage dort hatte die Caledonian Railway ein besonderes Ereignis; die Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Zwischen Brechin und Bridge of Dun verkehrten mehrere von Diesellokomotiven gezogene Züge. Ich habe an verschiedenen Stellen entlang der Strecke Fotos gemacht und bin natürlich auch selbst mitgefahren. Dennoch ein erfolgreicher Tag.

New Haven Railroad DERS-4 class EMD GP-9 diesel locomotive # 1210 & DER-2a class ALCO FA-1 diesel locomotive # 0401 are seen leading freight train NH-2, while GE EP-5 class electric locomotive # 371 is seen leading a mail train at Stamford, Connecticut, 10-18-1968. Both trains are just coming out of a curve and the super elevated tracks can be seen in this view. You can see the fireman in the standing in the cab of the EP-5 locomotive. At this point of time diesel electric locomotives were being operated under wire, and the end was getting near for New Haven Railroad operations.

Denver Rio Grande & Western westbound Rio Grande Zephyr is operating on a main line curve in the Rocky Mountains in a view seen from a dome coach in Colorado, Summer 1980. The scenery while observed on this route went from forests, rocks, mountains, canyons, valleys along rivers to dry arid areas which made it all the more interesting. It is a bit hard to take photos from a dome because of the strongly tinted blue-green glass being used. There is a sign indicating 25, which may relate to a speed restriction in this area.
Conrail Juniata Locomotive Shop with line a up of rebuilt & re-painted EMD SD40 locomotives being seen at Altoona, Pennsylvania, Oct 1994. These old locomotives are getting a new life after their rebuilding. Today this shop is now the property of Norfolk Southern. There is still tape from the paint shop on the horns of the locomotive 604, and it appears that additions emblems and decals will need to be applied to the fresh paint.

The EMD GT46PAC is a passenger-hauling diesel-electric locomotive with AC electric transmission designed by General Motors Electro-Motive Division and built by both GM-EMD and under license by Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) of Varanasi, India for Indian Railways as their classes WDP-4, WDP-4B and WDP-4D. The GT46PAC is a passenger version of the previous Indian Railways EMD GT46MAC freight locomotive. The locomotive has a 16 cylinder 710G3B diesel engine with a maximum speed of 904 RPM.
There are three variants of this loco - the original WDP-4 which is a 4,000 hp (2,980 kW) loco, the WDP-4B which is a 4,500 hp (3,360 kW)126 t (124 long tons; 139 short tons) weighted loco with a single cab and the newest WDP-4D which is a 4,500 hp (3,360 kW) loco with dual cabs.
