Voorheen kwamen we regelmatig naar de ZLSM voor de stoomtreindagen. Helaas zijn die enkele jaren niet meer gehouden. Maar in 2023 was het gelukkig weer zover. De eigen 1040 reed onder stoom samen met de HSIJ 22 'Tom' en HSIJ 57 ' Bonne'. Ook stichting Crew 2454 met de 2454 en de mP 3029, de SMMR 2225, de SHD 2205 en De Karel stel 466 waren aanwezig. De SSN kwam met de 01 1075 en 23 023 met een extra rit langs. Er reden veel personentreinen, maar ook enkele goederentreinen voor de fotografen. Een erg geslaagd evenement op een schitterende dag.
We used to come to the ZLSM regularly for the steam train days. Unfortunately, they were not held for a few years. But in 2023 it was fortunately time again. The SSN came along with the 01 1075 and 23 023 with an extra train from Rotterdam. Many passenger trains ran, but also some freight trains were scheduled for the photographers. A very successful event on a beautiful day.
Wir kamen regelmäßig zu den Dampfzugtagen der ZLSM. Leider haben sie mehreren Jahren nicht mehr stattgefunden. Aber glücklicherweise ist es 2023 erneut organisiert. Denver & Rio Grande Western westbound Rio Grande Zephyr, led by EMD F9A locomotive # 5771 and F9B locomotives # 5762 & # 5763, is stopped for fuel, water and possibly for some food supplies at the station in Grand Junction, Colorado, Summer 1980. The building with the red tile roof that is behind the train on the right side of the photo is the station building.
Grand Junction is the mid way point location in the trip between Denver and Salt Lake City where the locomotives of westbound or eastbound Zephyr's are fueled and watered. The passenger cars also take on water at this location plus any required food or drink for the diner or lounge car are supplied here too. At this stop some minor required repairs can also be made or a substitute locomotive may be called upon if necessary.

Dit jaar waren dat de SHM 5 ' Enkhuizen', de SHD 2205, de CREW 2454 Plan U stel 151, de SSN 23 023 en de eigen locs SGB 22 'Otter' en 264 'Sik'. Daarnaast stonden op het depot in Goes de SGB omC 910 en omC 909, CREW 2454 C9002 'Jaap', SHD 302282 'Anneke' en SHD Plan D 60 84 978 1 005-1 Meetrijtuig CTO ter bezichtiging. Genoeg te zien dus. Het was schitterend weer en we hebben ons dus weer prima vermaakt.
Every year the Stoomtrein Goes Borsele (SGB) organizes the event Tracks to the Past. Then various steam and diesel locomotives or trains come into action. This year these were the SHM 5 'Enkhuizen', the SHD 2205, the CREW 2454 Plan U set 151, the SSN 23 023 and their own locomotives SGB 22 'Otter' and 264 'Sik'. In addition, at the depot in Goes were the SGB omC 910 and omC 909, CREW 2454 C9002 'Jaap', SHD 302282 'Anneke' and SHD Plan D 60 84 978 1 005-1 Measuring carriage CTO on display. So plenty to see. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time again.
Jedes Jahr organisiert der Stoomtrein Goes Borsele (SGB) die Veranstaltung Spuren in die Vergangenheit. Dann kommen verschiedene Dampf- und Diesellokomotiven bzw. Züge zum Einsatz. In diesem Jahr waren dies die SHM 5 „Enkhuizen“, die SHD 2205, die CREW 2454 Plan U Set 151, die SSN 23 023 und unsere eigenen Lokomotiven SGB 22 „Otter“ und 264 „Sik“. Darüber hinaus standen die SGB omC 910 und omC 909, CREW 2454 C9002 „Jaap“, SHD 302282 „Anneke“ und SHD Plan D 60 84 978 1 005-1 Messwagen CTO im Depot in Goes zur Besichtigung bereit. Es gibt also viel zu sehen. Das Wetter war wunderschön und wir hatten wieder eine tolle Zeit.

Lehigh & New England Railroad ALCO FA-1's & FB-1 in a ABA lash-up led by # 710, along with its manifest freight train, are seen while passing through the New Haven Railroad Yard at Maybrook, New York, ca 1950. You may observe that the engineer's arm is sticking out of his cab window. Seen in the right side background is a rather rare in this area NC&STL Dixie Line boxcar. The L&NE early on completely dieselized in 1949, with ALCO FA-1's, FB-1's and RS-2's locomotives. These locomotives were black and white in color with a red nose logo. This railroad's total operation was shut down 1961 and was abandoned, all due to traffic reductions and further future reductions.

New Haven Railroad GE 44 Ton diesel locomotive switchers 0800 & 0802 are seen spotted on a siding along side the electric zone main lines in Connecticut, ca 1960. The days are coming to an end for these old diesel locomotives switchers. Interesting too, but there is an old sweeping broom laying on the walkway of locomotive 0800.

In de zomervakantie van 2023 moesten mijn vrouw en ik wegens familie omstandigheden halsoverkop naar Aberdeen, Schotland. Tijdens een van de laatste dagen daar, bleek de Caledonian Railway een speciaal evenement te hebben; de Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Diverse door diesellocomotieven getrokken treinen reden tussen Brechin en Bridge of Dun. Op diverse plekken langs de lijn heb ik gefotografeerd en natuurlijk ook zelf weer een ritje gemaakt. Toch nog een geslaagde dag geweest.
During the summer holidays of 2023, my wife and I had to rush to Aberdeen, Scotland, due to family circumstances. During one of the last days there, the Caledonian Railway turned out to be having a special event; the Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Several diesel locomotive-hauled trains ran between Brechin and Bridge of Dun. I took photographs at various places along the line and of course also went for a ride myself. Still a successful day.
Während der Sommerferien 2023 mussten meine Frau und ich aus familiären Gründen eilig nach Aberdeen, Schottland, reisen. An einem der letzten Tage dort hatte die Caledonian Railway ein besonderes Ereignis; die Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Zwischen Brechin und Bridge of Dun verkehrten mehrere von Diesellokomotiven gezogene Züge. Ich habe an verschiedenen Stellen entlang der Strecke Fotos gemacht und bin natürlich auch selbst mitgefahren. Dennoch ein erfolgreicher Tag.
New Haven Railroad ALCO DL-109 locomotive # 0724 with its passenger train is seen operating along the Shore Line in the snow at an unknown grade crossing location, ca early 1950's. The snow is not that deep, but provides a solid dusting on what appears to be a cold day. There are no crossing gates at this location, however; there are crossbucks and flasher lights. On August 2, 2005, I photographed this Diesel Locomotive at the Standard Sand & Silica Company from US Route 17/US Route 92 in Davenport, (Polk County) Florida. Elk jaar wordt met Hemelvaart de Nationale Stoomtreindag georganiseerd. Meestal zijn we dan bij de SGB of de RTM te vinden. Dit keer wilde ik, naar aanleiding van foto's die ik in Fb had gezien, eens naar de VSM. Samen met mijn oudste zoon op pad naar Loenen, waar we bijna een privé showtje goederenwagens rangeren hadden. Een groot deel van de ochtend hebben we bij de VSM doorgebracht, waarna we in de middag naar Zwolle zijn gegaan om daar nog de 1700 in dienst te bekijken.
Every year the National Steam Train Day is organized during Ascension Day. We can usually be found at the SGB or the RTM. This time, based on photos I had seen in Facebook, I wanted to go to the VSM. Together with my eldest son we went to Loenen, where we almost had a private show of shunting freight wagons. We spent a large part of the morning at the VSM, after which we went to Zwolle in the afternoon to view the 1700 in service there.
Jedes Jahr wird am Himmelfahrtstag der Nationale Dampfzugtag organisiert. In der Regel sind wir beim SGB oder beim RTM zu finden. Diesmal wollte ich, basierend auf Fotos, die ich auf Facebook gesehen hatte, zum VSM gehen. Zusammen mit meinem ältesten Sohn fuhren wir nach Loenen, wo wir fast eine Privatschau von Rangiergüterwagen hatten. Deltic Preservations Society's Class 55 55009 "Alycidon" and West Coast Railways Class 57 57012, pass through Derby Station while working 0Z55 from Barrow Hill LIP to Carnforth Steamtown.
This was Alycidon's first foray onto the mainline since 2019.
New Haven Railroad DL-109 locomotive 0738 & 0704 while leading a passenger train that is operating on the Shore Line is stopped at a station platform in Saybrook, Connecticut, August 31, 1946. The cab crew members are seen in this view with most likely the engineer at the cab door and the fireman in his cab window. The Dl-109 locomotive 0738 appears to be in the DER-1b configuration and it still retains its original car-body windows.

Seen at the 2024 Kettering Vintage Rally & Steam Fayre at Cranford, Northamptonshire
New Haven Railroad DER-1b class ALCO DL-109 diesel electric locomotives 0743 & 0735 are seen leading a passenger train along the main line, ca 1946. These locomotives are most likely wearing the delivered Hunter green with gold pin stripe paint scheme. The car behind the second locomotive may be a PRR car from its appearance, a modified P70 possibly. You can see the engineer in his cab window. More than likely this is a location along the Shore Line Route and the train is perhaps one that operates between Boston and Washington, D.C., via Pennsylvania Station in New York City.

Op de terugreis van onze vakantie in Duitsland, kwamen we langs de ZLSM. Daar bleek dat de net opgeknapte 52 532 werd proef gestookt. Een onverwachte meevaller. Ik en enkele andere hobbyisten werd (stilzwijgend) toegestaan het een en ander te bekijken en te fotograferen.
On the way back from our vacation in Germany, we passed by the ZLSM. It turned out that the recently refurbished 52 532 was being tested. An unexpected stroke of luck. I and a few other hobbyists were (silently) allowed to observe and photograph the progress.
Auf dem Rückweg von unserem Urlaub in Deutschland kamen wir am ZLSM vorbei. Wie sich herausstellte, wurde dort gerade die kürzlich überholte 52 532 getestet. Welch ein Glücksfall! Ich und ein paar andere Hobbyisten durften (still und heimlich) zusehen und fotografieren.
New Haven Railroad ALCO S-2 diesel electric switcher # 0609 and slug DT-1 are assigned to work the hump in Hartford Yard, ca mid-late 1950's. This MU set, both wearing the McGinnis paint scheme, was the only one used on the New Haven Railroad. The slug DT-1 was a former EY-3 class electric switcher that was modified for its new duties in 1952. The two electric switchers of the EY-3 class were motor generator locomotive. The slug DT-1 was condemned in 1962.

'Sporen naar het Verleden'is het jaarlijkse evenement bij de SGB. Diverse eigen locomotieven vaak ook gast materieel is aanwezig om dit evenement op te luisteren. Dit jaar was de 'Blauwe Engel' van het spoorwegmuseum aanwezig. Dit dieseltreinstel is vernoemd naar Marlene Dietrich, die op het moment dat het voor het eerst in Nederland op de rails kwam, wereldberoemd was.
Diverse treinen reden tussen Goes en Hoedekenskerke. Natuurlijk veel gefotografeerd langs het spoor, maar een ritje in de Blauwe Engel en de stoomtrein kon natuurlijk ook niet achter blijven. Verder hebben de kinderen zich uitstekend vermaakt in de speeltuin. Het was een geslaagde dag uit voor de hele familie.
'Tracks to the past' is the annual event at the SGB. Various own locomotives and often also guest locomotives are present to liven up this event. This year the 'Blue Angel' of the Dutch railway museum was present. This diesel train set is named after Marlene Dietrich, who was world famous when this train got into service in the Netherlands.
Several trains ran between Goes and Hoedekenskerke. Of course I made a lot photographs along the track, but a ride in the Blue Angel and the steam train could not be left behind. Furthermore, the children had a great time in the playground. It was a nice day out for the whole family.
'Spuren in die Vergangenheit' ist die jährliche Veranstaltung der SGB. Verschiedene eigene Lokomotiven, oft auch Gast Züge, verleihen dieser Veranstaltung Glanz. In diesem Jahr war der 'Blaue Engel' des Eisenbahnmuseums anwesend. Dieses Dieselzugset ist nach Marlene Dietrich benannt, die weltberühmt war, als es in den Niederlanden zum ersten Mal auf die Schienen kam.
Mehrere Züge fuhren zwischen Goes und Hoedekenskerke. Natürlich habe ich viele Fotos entlang der Strecke gemacht, aber eine Fahrt mit dem Blauen Engel und dem Dampfzug konnte auch nicht zurückgelassen werden. Außerdem hatten die Kinder eine tolle Zeit auf dem Spielplatz. Es war ein erfolgreicher Tag für die ganze Familie.
I took this Photograph somewhere in the area of the Restored Depot in Hamlet North Carolina during a Weekend Trip to Hamlet, North Carolina sponsored by the Atlantic Coast Line & Seaboard Air Line Historical Society. We visited the Large CSX Hump Yard, Restored Hamlet Depot and several small Short Line Railroads in the Area such as the Laurinburg & Southern, the Aberdeen, Carolina & Western and the Aberdeen & Rockfish.
The Unknown Pale Blue Locomotive is Number 131.
Unfortunately, I didn't take adequate Notes during this trip, so I cannot identify all of the Cities and Towns, where I took many of my Photographs. We probably traveled within about a 50 Mile Circle around Hamlet, North Carolina.
I know we passed through the outskirts of Rockingham, North Carolina, because, I took a Photograph of the former NASCAR Race Track in Rockingham as we passed with our Vans.

Het was al weer enige tijd geleden dat we voor het laatst bij de SHM langs waren geweest (2019). Dit jaar waren de omC-tjes van de SGB en de 8107 'kikker' van de MBS aanwezig. Verder kwamen ook de eigen 7742 ' Bello' en de 6513 in actie. Met zoveel (historisch en/of replica) Nederlands materieel, konden we dit natuurlijk niet overslaan. Het was een prachtig evenement, met mooie treinen en diverse figuranten om alles verder aan te kleden. Helaas bleken de omC-tjes niet zelfstandig te kunnen rijden, dus werd de LTM 26 als trekkracht ingezet. Maar dat maakte het nog unieker.

With so much (historical and/or replica) Dutch equipment, we could of course not skip this. It was a wonderful event, with beautiful trains and various extras to further dress everything up. Unfortunately, the omCs turned out not to be able to drive independently, so the LTM 26 was used as traction. But that made it even more unique.
Unser letzter Besuch im SHM (2019) ist schon eine Weile her. Dieses Jahr waren die SGB omC-tjes und der 8107 „Frosch“ der MBS anwesend. Darüber hinaus kamen auch die firmeneigenen 7742 „Bello“ und die 6513 zum Einsatz. Bei so viel (historischer und/oder nachgebauter) niederländischer Eisenbahnmaterial konnten wir uns das natürlich nicht entgehen lassen. Es war eine wunderschöne Veranstaltung mit wunderschönen Zügen und vielen Extras, die das Ganze noch schöner machten. Da die OmC-Einheiten leider nicht in der Lage waren, selbstständig zu fahren, wurde der LTM 26 als Traktionszug eingesetzt. Aber das machte es noch einzigartiger.

I had to hold my breath before each shot so the condensation would dissipate. The local run had paused so the conductor could check the pneumatic lines and so they could pick up a few empty lumber cars from the siding there.
Elk jaar organiseert de MBS een Najaarsstyoomdag. Dit jaar kwam ook de 162 in actie met een net opgeknapte boxcar. Ook werden er weer enkele slagen gereden met de Wismar railbus. Het was helaas erg regenachtig, wat echter wel weer bijdroeg aan de sfeer.
Every year the MBS organizes an Autumn Stoom Day. This year, the 162 came into action with a recently refurbished boxcar also. There were also some rides with the Wismar railbus. Unfortunately it was raining a lot, although it did add to the atmosphere.
Jedes Jahr organisiert die MBS einen Autumn Stoom Day. In diesem Jahr kam der 162 auch mit einem kürzlich renovierten Güterwagen zum Einsatz. Es gab auch einige fahrten mit dem Wismar-Schienenbus. Leider war es sehr regnerisch, was aber zur Atmosphäre beitrug.

Naast de eigen loc 4389, waren dit jaar stoomloc 5 'Enkhuizen' van de SHM, de 23 023 van de SSN en Crew 2454 met hun 2454, Mat '64 stel 904 en mP 3029 aanwezig. Ook maakten de omC 909 en 910 enkele ritten. Dit jaar besteedden we vooral aandacht aan de omC 909 en 910. Het was weer een erg geslaagd evenement.
This year I went to the annual event 'Traces to the past' with my two sons. In addition to our own locomotive 4389, steam locomotive 5 'Enkhuizen' of the SHM, 23 023 of the SSN and Crew 2454 with their 2454, Mat '64 set 904 and mP 3029 were present this year. The OMC 909 and 910 also made a few journeys. This year we paid particular attention to the OMC 909 and 910. It was another very successful event.
Dieses Jahr war ich mit meinen beiden Söhnen bei der jährlichen Veranstaltung „Spuren in die Vergangenheit“. Neben unserer eigenen Lokomotive 4389 waren in diesem Jahr auch die Dampflokomotive 5 'Enkhuizen' der SHM, 23 023 der SSN und die Besatzung 2454 mit ihrer 2454, Mat '64 Set 904 und mP 3029 anwesend. Auch die OMC 909 und 910 machten einige Fahrten. Besonderes Augenmerk haben wir in diesem Jahr auf die OMC 909 und 910 gelegt. Es war wieder eine sehr erfolgreiche Veranstaltung.
Deze dag samen met mijn dochter naar het Spoorwegmuseum geweest. Zij vermaakte zich wel met de ' achtbaan' en de andere attracties. Ik had mijn statief mee en leefde mij zelf ook lekker uit.
This day I went to the Railway Museum with my daughter. She enjoyed herself with the 'roller coaster' and the other attractions. I had my tripod with me and had a great time.
Heute war ich mit meiner Tochter im Eisenbahnmuseum. Sie vergnügte sich mit der „Achterbahn“ und den anderen Attraktionen. Ich hatte mein Stativ dabei und hatte eine tolle Zeit.
New Haven Railroad ALCO FA-1 and DL-701 locomotives lead a westbound manifest freight train in the snow on an express track through Stamford, Connecticut, winter 1968. This train appears to be mostly a mixture of TOFC's, refrigerator cars and boxcars. The FA1 locomotive has a good pile of snow on its pilot. Unlike today where an engine may have tens to hundreds of sensors, in WW2 this is an example of an engine monitoring panel on HMS Alliance, the last remaining British WW2 submarine preserved at the Naval Submarine Museum in Gosport near Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Elk jaar wordt met Hemelvaart de Nationale Stoomtreindag georganiseerd. Meestal waren we dan bij de SGB of de RTM te vinden. Vorig jaar zijn we voor het eerst eens naar de VSM gegaan. Dat was ons goed bevallen. Samen met mijn oudste zoon ook dit jaar op pad naar Loenen, waar we bijna een privé showtje goederenwagens rangeren hadden. En de rest van de dag hebben we langs de lijn of in Beekbergen en Loenen doorgebracht, waarbij de nadruk lag op de 2530 met de goederentrein.
Every year on Ascension Day, National Steam Train Day is held. We were usually at the SGB or the RTM. Last year, we went to the VSM for the first time. We really enjoyed it. This year, my eldest son and I also went to Loenen, where we practically had a private show shunting freight cars. We spent the rest of the day along the line or in Beekbergen and Loenen, focusing on the 2530 freight train.
Jedes Jahr an Christi Himmelfahrt findet der Nationale Dampfloktag statt. Wir waren meist bei der SGB oder der RTM. Letztes Jahr waren wir zum ersten Mal bei der VSM. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Dieses Jahr waren mein ältester Sohn und ich auch in Loenen, wo wir quasi eine Privatvorführung beim Rangieren von Güterwagen hatten. Den restlichen Tag verbrachten wir an der Strecke oder in Beekbergen und Loenen und konzentrierten uns auf den Güterzug 2530.

'Sporen naar het Verleden'is het jaarlijkse evenement bij de SGB. Diverse eigen locomotieven vaak ook gast materieel is aanwezig om dit evenement op te luisteren. Dit jaar was de 'Blauwe Engel' van het spoorwegmuseum aanwezig. Dit dieseltreinstel is vernoemd naar Marlene Dietrich, die op het moment dat het voor het eerst in Nederland op de rails kwam, wereldberoemd was.
Diverse treinen reden tussen Goes en Hoedekenskerke. Natuurlijk veel gefotografeerd langs het spoor, maar een ritje in de Blauwe Engel en de stoomtrein kon natuurlijk ook niet achter blijven. Verder hebben de kinderen zich uitstekend vermaakt in de speeltuin. Het was een geslaagde dag uit voor de hele familie.
'Tracks to the past' is the annual event at the SGB. Various own locomotives and often also guest locomotives are present to liven up this event. This year the 'Blue Angel' of the Dutch railway museum was present. This diesel train set is named after Marlene Dietrich, who was world famous when this train got into service in the Netherlands.
Several trains ran between Goes and Hoedekenskerke. Of course I made a lot photographs along the track, but a ride in the Blue Angel and the steam train could not be left behind. Furthermore, the children had a great time in the playground. It was a nice day out for the whole family.

Mehrere Züge fuhren zwischen Goes und Hoedekenskerke. Natürlich habe ich viele Fotos entlang der Strecke gemacht, aber eine Fahrt mit dem Blauen Engel und dem Dampfzug konnte auch nicht zurückgelassen werden. Außerdem hatten die Kinder eine tolle Zeit auf dem Spielplatz. Es war ein erfolgreicher Tag für die ganze Familie.
In de zomervakantie van 2023 moesten mijn vrouw en ik wegens familie omstandigheden halsoverkop naar Aberdeen, Schotland. Tijdens een van de laatste dagen daar, bleek de Caledonian Railway een speciaal evenement te hebben; de Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Diverse door diesellocomotieven getrokken treinen reden tussen Brechin en Bridge of Dun. Op diverse plekken langs de lijn heb ik gefotografeerd en natuurlijk ook zelf weer een ritje gemaakt. Toch nog een geslaagde dag geweest.
During the summer holidays of 2023, my wife and I had to rush to Aberdeen, Scotland, due to family circumstances. During one of the last days there, the Caledonian Railway turned out to be having a special event; the Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Several diesel locomotive-hauled trains ran between Brechin and Bridge of Dun. I took photographs at various places along the line and of course also went for a ride myself. Still a successful day.
Während der Sommerferien 2023 mussten meine Frau und ich aus familiären Gründen eilig nach Aberdeen, Schottland, reisen. An einem der letzten Tage dort hatte die Caledonian Railway ein besonderes Ereignis; die Caledonian Railway Sulzer Diesel Gala. Zwischen Brechin und Bridge of Dun verkehrten mehrere von Diesellokomotiven gezogene Züge. Ich habe an verschiedenen Stellen entlang der Strecke Fotos gemacht und bin natürlich auch selbst mitgefahren. Dennoch ein erfolgreicher Tag.

Daarnaast stonden op het depot in Goes de SGB omC 910 en omC 909, CREW 2454 C9002 'Jaap', SHD 302282 'Anneke' en SHD Plan D 60 84 978 1 005-1 Meetrijtuig CTO ter bezichtiging. Genoeg te zien dus. Het was schitterend weer en we hebben ons dus weer prima vermaakt.

Denver & Rio Grande Western eastbound Rio Grande Zephyr is passing through the yard on the main line with a GP40-2 # 3121, along with other locomotives, leading a manifest freight train on the next track at Grand Junction, Colorado, Summer 1980. There was much freight railroading activity seen as the Zephyr passed through the yard area.
In 2023 werd weer Terug naar Toen georganiseerd door de Veluwse Stoomtrein Maatschappij (VSM). Hoogtepunt dit jaar was het weer in dienst komen van de 41 241. Dat was duidelijk te merken aan de hoeveelheden toeschouwers en fotografen langs de lijn ; ) In actie kwamen naast de 41 241, ook de 44 1593, 50 307, 52 3879, 50 3654, 65 018, 23 071, 64 415, 2459, 2530 en de SSN 01 1075. Samen met mijn oudste zoon langs de lijn en op het depot doorgebracht. Het was schitterend weer; 's ochtends mist en later veel zon, maar daardoor helaas minder stoomontwikkeling. Weer een geslaagde dag uit.

Spent along the line and at the depot with my eldest son. The weather was beautiful; mist in the morning and later a lot of sun, but unfortunately less steam development. Another successful day out.
Im Jahr 2023 wurde 'Zurück nach Damals' erneut vom Veluwse Stoomtrein Maatschappij (VSM) organisiert. Der Höhepunkt in diesem Jahr war die Wiederinbetriebnahme der 41 241. Dies war deutlich an der Zahl der Zuschauer und Fotografen entlang der Strecke zu erkennen; ) Neben der 41 241 waren auch die 44 1593, 50 307, 52 3879, 50 3654, 65 018, 23 071, 64 415, 2459, 2530 und die SSN 01 1075 im Einsatz. Das Wetter war wunderschön; Morgens Nebel und später viel Sonne, aber leider weniger Dampfentwicklung. Ein weiterer erfolgreicher Ausflugstag.

Main rail line connecting Kerala with Tamil Nadu runs through southern boundary of our University Campus. Both ways put together nearly 100 trains, passenger and goods included, pass through this on any day. Howling sound of diesel engines and honking of train waiting for signal is common throughout day and night.
