I took these Photographs somewhere in the area of the Restored Depot in Hamlet North Carolina during a Weekend Trip to Hamlet, North Carolina sponsored by the Atlantic Coast Line & Seaboard Air Line Historical Society. We visited the Large CSX Hump Yard, Restored Hamlet Depot and several small Short Line Railroads in the Area such as the Laurinburg & Southern, the Aberdeen, Carolina & Western and the Aberdeen & Rockfish.

Unfortunately, I didn't take adequate Notes during this trip, so I cannot identify all of the Cities and Towns, where I took many of my Photographs. We probably traveled within about a 50 Mile Circle around Hamlet, North Carolina.

This Photograph shows at least four Laurinburg & Southern Locomotives (or parts of) parked on Tracks in a Railroad Yard. There is also Gulf & Ohio Locomotive Number Number 9525 in my Photograph'

'Tracks to the past' is the annual event at the SGB. Various own locomotives and often also guest locomotives are present to liven up this event. This year the 'Blue Angel' of the Dutch railway museum was present. This diesel train set is named after Marlene Dietrich, who was world famous when this train got into service in the Netherlands.

Several trains ran between Goes and Hoedekenskerke. Of course I made a lot photographs along the track, but a ride in the Blue Angel and the steam train could not be left behind. Furthermore, the children had a great time in the playground. It was a nice day out for the whole family.

This quaint fishing village at the mouth of the Fraser River was voted #1 Metro Vancouver neighborhood out of 192 in 2020. Much of it was declared a heritage zone in 1960, which accounts the warm, old-timey vibe. But it is also a working fishing village, which makes it a seafood lover’s paradise. You can buy fresh seafood right off the dock!

But there’s more to Fisherman’s Wharf – a floating dockside walkway that threads between the fishing boats – as well as the accompanying Steveston Landing boardwalk of shops and eateries than meets the eye. The shoreline attraction is a direct link to the local fishing industry and the region’s cannery-era heyday, and it’s also a perfect place to explore!

At Fisherman’s Wharf visitors can wander down the ramp, walk the floating pathways and peer at the seafood sold from the small armada of boats moored alongside. This public fish sales market offers a cornucopia of glistening goodies, which can include salmon, rockfish, and brimming baskets of shrimp. Look out for fresh-caught sea urchins and keep in mind that the highly anticipated spot prawn season (typically mid-May to June) is a must-see.

Ct 203-103

This year my eldest son, my father and I went the event "Terug naar Toen (Back to then) by the VSM. And of course, many locs were under steam again. The SSN 65 018 and 01 1075 were visiting locomotives again. For the 65 018 one of her last appearances for the SSN before her to be taken out of service. The usual steam goods trains between Beekbergen and Apeldoorn were only running in the morning this year. So that was the focus for the morning. In the afternoon we mainly spend our time around Loenen. Again it was a magnificent spectacle with beautiful weather.

New Haven Railroad EMD GP-9 in the # 1200 series leads an eastbound train on a platform track in fresh heavy snow between the station and tower SS38 in Stamford, Connecticut, winter 1969. Don't know how many locomotives may be part of the consist, or if an actual freight train or possibly a passenger trains is following the locomotive. From the amount of snow being thrown up in the air the locomotive must be traveling at a good rate of speed. On the left are two sets of Pullman-Standard stainless steel MUT's that are located on stub end sidings deep in the snow. Bob Hughes took this photo from his nice and warm tower location.

Penn Central ex Pennsylvania Railroad EMD E8 locomotive # 4262, along with a following FL-9 is seen leading a passenger train along the former New Haven Railroad Shore Line route, early 1970's, Bob Hughes Photo. At this time I do not have information about the location of the bridge on which the train has just crossed. There is no number on the block signal to identify the location either. Almost all passenger cars on this train now have a PC name plate applied to the letter board. You may observe the engineer and fireman within the cab.

Denver & Rio Grande Western eight car westbound Rio Grande Zephyr led by EMD F9A locomotive # 5771 and two F9B locomotives heads around a main line curve while passing a green block signal in Utah while on its way to Salt Lake City, Utah, Summer 1980. It seems that at just about every location the color of the surrounding terrain keeps on changing. The rails on this main line are well polished because numerous unit coal trains along with manifest freight trains are operated daily on this route. At this location there is an "S" curve present.

Due to Corona and family circumstances, we were unable to join Plandampf in the Werratal. But after so many years, the blood creeps where it can't go. That is why my father, my eldest son and I decided to travel to the former East Germany during the May holidays, to enjoy narrow-gauge steam.

First we visited the Zittauer Schmalspurbahn, where due to work on the Mandaubrücke in Zittau itself, only the route from Zittau Vorstadt to Jonsdorf/Oybin was used. In addition, after 68 years Bertsdorf was again 'Lokeinsatzstelle'. So a unique opportunity.

Also eine einmalige Gelegenheit.
