- www.kevin-palmer.com - I wouldn't normally set my tripod up in the middle of a steep and slick mountain highway. But at this time of night there was no traffic at all.
Birding in Winter is at times challenging due to the cold weather but at other times, if the sun is out and there is little or no wind, it can be very rewarding. Finding an American Tree Sparrow was the highlight on this visit.

I forgot how peaceful it is to hike under a gentle rain. I kept climbing until reaching this view of the Tongue River.
It's nice to see one little bird in the first day of December...

December 31 - The last day of 2021 and the final day of my Photo-a-Day project. After nine years of taking and posting a photo each day, it is time to make some changes. My photography will continue, but the daily postings will end. You will still see images from me, just not everyday.
Thank you for being interested in my little project. Your kind words and encouragement have kept me going many times (especially this year). I've met wonderful friends and seen beautiful places these past nine years.
I feel truly blessed.

This was two weeks ago....a beautiful sunset at the Grand Haven Pier and Lighthouse. What a difference a couple weeks make. We have been hit with a ton of snow and wind. Heading to the lake shore in the morning to see the difference.

I had only one December shoot with Jane which was in 2016. These are 3 shots from that day which was just a totally fabulous day with wonderful memories
Testing out the 100mm lens on Scott's camera to see if I like that area of range; not too shabby. I do like how close you can get to a subject with it, not quite the Nikon lens since he's a Canon guy, but it does give me a better idea in my question for a new macro lens.

This year Hulk and Thor have to share the guest room. Do you remember poor Steve in the sawmill last December? Now its Hulk's turn to listen to some hard snoring.
He says, if he wasn't already Hulk he would turn into Hulk from that noise.

The water has receeded a little from it's peak, but it is still quite a dramatic change to the landscape having a "lake" where once there were fields and a road!
