REALLY LOOKS BETTER LARGE ON BLACK

it has been a long and hectic day and i thought i'd be zonked out by now. but sleep typically eludes me when my brain has been overused during the day. so i thought i'd upload something for fun - just so you know, i do zoom out once in a while . . . especially when navigating the Los Angeles freeways. zoom - get it?

have a pleasant evening, afternoon, morning - wherever you may be.

Today, everywhere you look around New York City is inspiring. The fresh white powered snow covers all sidewalks and trees giving the city such a calming and clean look. Central Park looked like a dream, all covered in white. Actually, the city looks like a nice black and white video clip. I was sitting on a traffic light on Park Avenue, commuting back to my home when I saw the perfect colors reflected on the asphalt adding some charm to the avenues and streets. I quickly got my camera out and through the wet and snowy windshield I was able to capture this photograph. I am happy with the result and I was lucky not to get stopped by a traffic police this time.

Someone waiting at a bus stop in morning mist.

The fantastic, loved blue couch is going to its next home today, so I had to use it for today's self portrait. Though the move has been a mixed bag and I've been feeling mostly stressed about it, today I'm feeling very light and good.

The polaroid picture I'm holding is from Winterhaven a few years ago. Winterhaven is a neighborhood in Tucson where everyone decorates their homes and lawns at Christmas. Most houses have themes and sometimes they have nothing to do with Christmas, really, and sometimes there are Channukah houses. People come and walk through; the streets are closed to non-resident's cars for most of the nights through December. The word LOVE was in huge letters on someone's lawn. Yes, yes. LOVE, indeed!

Oh, goodbye blue couch, I love you. I'm so glad you're going to a home where I know you will be appreciated!

The evening sky falls as the underground sign posts light up

another iphone shot, taken at the same place and time as my previous shot, a slightly different perspective... the motion blur was quite unintentional as I have no idea if one can control these things with the phone, but I don't mind it

We finally got some much needed rain. It's supposed to storm tonight and then be nice again tomorrow.

The transition from Urban Dessert to Space travel ......

Being a part of the crowd always .... one yet gets to explore ones' space...and move on towards achieving their dream......and thus starts the mystical journey of time transition..

An engine fault caused problems at Moor Street. The train was not too delayed but the trains were crowded. My line is pretty good most of the time.

An escalator at the Heinrich Heine Subway Station in Düsseldorf Germany.

It was going to be a picture of a dark morning or evening as there was a lot to do at work today.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2009!! May it be the best year yet!! :-)

in the belly of munich, the marienplatz underground station thrums with the rhythm of the city. commuters flow through the arteries of the metro, each a cell in the organism of urban life. fluorescent lights cast a sterile glow on tiles and posters, illuminating scenes of mundane beauty. a man adjusts his hair, a silent ballet against the backdrop of motion and stillness, a microcosm of city life captured in a fleeting moment of self-reflection amidst the daily dance of the commute.

I work in the City on Wednesday morning so I get up early and have e wander. I was hoping to post a picture from the Custard Factory which is an Arts Centre. However walking back to the centre, this glossy billboard with graffiti presented an ideal leading line. The lone figure lining up with the Rotunda was a bonus.

I recently lost someone very, very close to me..........as a result I moved 1100 miles from Oklahoma to North Carolina, to be with my family. I want to thank my SL & Flickr friends for all the kind notes & e-mails of concern....you guys are the BEST!! I don't know when I will be able to return to SL & Flickr the way I used to be, I'm still in alot of pain & trying to adjust....but I will be around some to see your excellent pics, so until that time, take care dear SL & Flickr friends...and keep up the GREAT work!! Luv you guys!! **April**

This photograph captures a single pedestrian ascending a covered, zigzagging footbridge in Sikar, Rajasthan during bright afternoon light (2:55 pm). Shot hand-held with a mobile device (M2103K191) at f/1.79, 1/2445 s, 4.70 mm, ISO 50, the image deliberately uses high contrast and silhouette to reduce the scene to graphic lines, repeating roof profiles, and the human form in motion. My intent was to emphasize architectural rhythm and the smallness of an individual against industrial infrastructure — using negative space and a muted sky to heighten isolation and movement. The corrugated canopy and railings create diagonal layers that lead the eye from left to right; the lone figure breaks the pattern and provides a human anchor.

my take on daily urban commute and urban blues

On the way to work I encountered this sky formation above the train station. I took a quick picture with my iPhone and posted it on the BBC news weatherwatchers site. It got featured on the Breakfast news weather. It was featured in a weather article and the correct terminology is altocumulus translucidus perlucidus clouds

Grey looking, calm and peaceful morning but the fall colors did brighten my day !!

View On Black

The main entrance to Clumber Park from the A614. As I drove home on Friday, I saw the sunset framed by the entrance. A quick u-turn later, I was back to take the shot when a lone cyclist turned into Clumber. Sometimes Lady Luck just makes your day.

I was on the same platform tonight but this time it is earlier and I have cropped right down into the image. To me it is a different view, to you I hope it is a nice view.
