"Sunday Drive"...one of my earlier pieces.

I grew up with two VW's. One of whch was red with a black convertible top. This is an omage to the car. Since this work, my style has changed somewhat. Elements like the grass and trees are heavier with paint and treated as a painting rather than just a single one color layer.

Notice the signature stylistic zig-zag grass as in most works I have done. Also note that the figure has a side profile with a single eye. Many of my new figures are done with a side profile showing two eyes, on one side, much like the treatments carried through on Egyptian images. Also, no mouth. I feel by showing the lack of a mouth, the viewer is not distracted by emotional conveyers. Concentration to the eye is the intent here.

This is a self-standing sculpture as well as a wall hanging.

Approximate size: 10"x10"x3.5 deep.

Anyone who love the bug would love the whimsical nature of this piece.

Yes, I know these are no dandelions, but look how happy they are! :)

Sí, ya sé que no son dientes de león, pero ¡mirad qué felices que son! :)

I love when the sun creates this kind of natural spotlights, where little and insignificant plants have their 5 minutes of glory.

I couldn't resist testing the close-up capabilities of the Ideal 250/3 with this fantastic spotlight. Using Velvia 50 for it was a must.

More about Velvia 50, my favorite color slide film, in my blog.

Another version of the Central Line over Stratford. The sky just looked so amazing against the yellow of the train. Pity I'm not a proper photographer - this could have looked amazing!

I woke up a bit late this morning and ended up walking to work about 15 minutes after when I normally set out. That meant the sun was all up and in the sky already and crazy shit like that. It was a lovely crisp morning, and I even got to walk through a bizarre mist cloud at the first farm field, the kind of cloud that would, in a horror movie, be murderous. In real life, it just seemed to be a preliminary indicator that everyone in my household would have a thoroughly pleasant Friday.

Good morning, everyone.

Taken at small halloween pumpkin market at the corner of Fairfax and 3rd street, Los Angeles, CA.

And pumpkins pretend to be oranges.

This view shows the Heuston trainshed well, The station was recently revamped a number of years ago and originally dates from the 1840's. While the motive power has changed greatly within, the structure of the trainshed has changed little in 164 years.

Not yet quite the shot I am after...

Get off the train, walk to the car, click the keys and hey presto the lights come on.

A twist on our daily commute

On the way to work, i decided to take a small detour. It was well worth it.

The 7:30 boat to Madeline Island is primarily filled with contractors; plumbers, carpenters, electricians, masons, etc, who are on their way to work.

Brother of Peter they were fishermen and the first called to be apostles. Jesus told them to be fishers of men. All Men !!

-8° going to work this morning...Copenhagen in a freezer!

This is a 12-foot (~3.6m) length of all-thread that I found laying in the street. Put it in an old inner tube, strapped that bad boy to my top tube, and home I went!

A kildare bound communter train heads south at Stucummy bridge, Co Kildare. The lines here were enlarged from two to four lines in recent years as part of the Kildare project. Three lines were in operation here as the old down line (far left) was been dug to the foundations and ready to be relaid when this picture was taken.

"Buckley" with some Christmas mods, new Brooks B-17 Standard, Planet Bike Cages, and patiently awaiting Planet Bike fenders in black (I will put these on eventually.) :) Pardon the messy room. I'm getting over a cold so things are in disarray. New fenders are on. There is another photo for that. :)

tried to make my commute a little less work for my old back.
