So, these are the letters I created by printing text on a sticky A4 and cutting out the letters using the Cuttlebug machine. I copy-pasted the (French) text from a French website and altered the fonts.

Created by Jaclyn Huniu of Anaheim, CA, this Hanukkah at the Beach Menorah is a playful comment the intersetion of modern idols and ancient tradition.
The menorah is made from real Barbie and Ken dolls planted in a sandcast base, and each holds one candle. Barbies and Kens are dressed for the beach, and the "Shamash candle" is stuck into the head of a larger Barbie. The menorah rest on the legs and lower torso of the dolls.
Materials: Sand, plaster, plastic dolls and clothing, paint, glue, small plastic props.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I'm surprised that M.G.A. sold this line of dolls without names. It's interesting because Rainbow High dolls usually have last names too. I named this gal Tamika...I couldn't just call her Watercolor & Create (that's a mouthful, plus what if I get the other dollies from this wave?). I never paid this collection any mind in stores. Honestly, my eyes usually skim over Rainbow High dolls unless there are sale tags. I scored this lady at Target in July of 2025. My sister and I made a trek out to Saver's after my therapy appointment one Wednesday. On the way home, we popped in at Target. It can be pretty hit or miss there. That afternoon we found some clearance dolls hidden on the end cap of one of the aisles. This cutie was marked at $9!!! She was easily the best bargain given her quality and original retail price. I also love the stark contrast of her super dark skin and bright white outfit. She has tinsel in her hair which adds a bit of something extra to her. Tamika came with a bunch of watercolor powders that you can use to decorate her hair and clothes with. But I refuse to use that sort of stuff on my dolls...I remember the nightmarish experiences I had as a kid with those gimmicks. Instead, she will remain with nice clean white hair and attire. I blinged her out with rainbow resin earrings for a pop of color.

My "Create-a-Monster" triclops, Ajna, finally got her make-over. I rooted her hair using "Sour Grapes", "Bobby Blue" and "Daiquari Ice" nylon hair from dollyhair.com. I got the inspiration from this wig: www.ebay.com/itm/1-3-8-9-Dal-Pullip-BJD-SD-LUTS-BLYTH-Dol... (which I bought for one of my Pullips, but I haven't found anyone to wear it yet)

Special Recognition: Creating Art with my Hands

This project started August 2007, I had to over-come many obstacles to complete my Hawaiian quilt. I have scleroderma since 1987, it is a chronic connective tissue disease that hardens the skin, internal organs are affected. Still functional, I have all my fingers with hand disfigurement, affected daily with arthritis and vascular challenges.
Sometimes the only relief for a scleroderma patient’s hands is amputation, because it is painful! If diagnosed, one usually has Raynaud’s Phenomenon and if not controlled, it can be life threatening.
In 2000, I took up sewing thinking it will be therapeutic. Since then, I have taken a lot of art and sewing classes. I took Linda Visnaw’s Thread Sketches class (www.lindavisnaw.com) and adapted her Hawaiian Surprise designs, using my perspective, in my entry for the 2009 Veteran’s art festival competition.
Linda made sewing ergonomic suggestions like taping down a clean garbage bag to my work area. This allows fabric to move easily while performing free-motion embroidery and lessens hand fatigue. I used the four P’s: planning, prioritizing, problem-solving and pacing to accomplish this scheme
January 31, 2009, I applied Swaroski crystals all over it, flower by flower, step by step. It has taken a long time to finish, I have learned that the only limitation you have is within yourself.
