Hello everyone! For this Thanksgiving tutorial (if you’re in the USA), I present you with the coffee based drink menu for The Roasterie, a cozy coffee shop located in Piccadilly Circus purveying bold flavors and carefully selected pastries to its patrons.
We’ll use some of the twenty font families included in the font geek’s go-to bundle to accomplish that. We’ll explore basic visual identity building, and how to use the many symbol/dingbats typefaces included in the collection to our advantage for layout building, and more!
So, pour yourself a warm cup of Arabica, and let’s do this.

My wife Ginger had to fight with this disease a few years ago and I thank God she won her battle. Now her sister Barbara is fighting with it. She is, as always, in our thoughts and prayers as she deals with any fears and unknowns. She knows God is with her so she's facing it with all the strength He gives her.
I'll be in the Komen Houston Race for the Cure® (Team Live, Love Pink) tomorrow to show support for them both and for all women who have to deal with this terrible disease.
If you want you can add the back wheel. It just slides in and locks, and is removed the same way. I found it added some jitter to the back end when I had the penny ballast in.

Materials & techniques used: Paint, Oil Pastel, pen, water color, and collage
We used traditional art media, acrylic, collage, oil pastel, graphite, charcoal to tell our stories and then we laminated them to weather proof them. Several students worked collaboratively on the 2' x 2' panels, while others worked independently and then found works that mirrored their theme and put them together to create panels.

How can I make a difference?
In 2008, a group of educators and artists formed the International Fiber Collaborative (IFC) a non-profit organization with a mission to create deeper learning experiences through art, collaboration, and cross-curricular programming for individuals and their communities.
IFC’s current initiative, The Dream Rocket Project, started in 2009 has exhibited submissions in over 105 venues; in 2014 submissions will be connected side by side to wrap a 363’ Saturn V Moon Rocket replica at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL (48’ taller than the Statue of Liberty).
With every artwork received a student has had to ask; what is my dream for my future, and the future of my community and our world? How can students across our nation with many skills collaborate to make a difference? How can creativity and other subjects such as space, technology, science, and leadership inspire innovation? How can I make a difference?

Is it a concidence that I finished this home-made, fictional Great Old One right in time for Halloween? Hmmm.....
While not a true entity of the Lovecraftian realm, the Slenderman is urban myth and pop culture enough to become an Arkham Horror enemy at the ranks of Great Old One - even though I think it might just be one of Nyarlathotep's masks...
However, my personal Slenderman interpretation was created with a rather quick but tough game in mind, and this Great Old One integrates several mechanisms from other official Great Old Ones and game supplements. Furthermore I wanted to incorporate elements into gameplay that reflect Slenderman's myth and typical traits of this figure.
Since this became too complex to be compressed on the Great Old One sheet alone I added a Herald sheet - even though there's technically no Herald in play.
In addition to the Sheets and Manifestation counters, you will also need some form of Encounter Markers.
Slenderman's Doom Track is relatively short. This was chosen in order to add pressure to the players - and through the collected Encounter Markers in the course of the game the players will need some extra successes in order to defeat this enemy.
However, the Final Battle can be deliberately postponed through alternatively raising the Terror Level, with all of this move's side effects. This was adapted from the 'King in Yellow' Herald from the eponymous game supplement, and I incorporated this option because my players' round typically keeps good control of the number of monsters in play so that the Terror Level rarely raises at all.
Encounters with Slenderman's Manifestations were inspired by the official Great Old One 'Nyogtha' (from the Innsmouth Expansion) and its single tendril quasi-monster that pops up here and there; I just added more facets of fear, much like Nyalathotep's masks, so that there's more variety through the different Manifestations, which pose different levels of threat and consequences.
As a side effect, Slenderman's power and toughness slowly grow with each encounter, and the outlook of becoming cursed when the Final Battle starts might also induce some panic.
Slenderman's attack during the Final Battle is a bit simple, but I wanted a slightly different mechanism from having the players making ever more difficult skill checks.
However, I found using the Focus as a basis for the battle a neat twist - the more limited (or dull?) investigators have a slight advantage in the Final Battle. And those with more creativity and flexible potential more susceptible to their inner fears, aren't they...?
Investigators with infinite Focus can start the Battle with 0 Focus, but the successive dice malus per round still incurs, so that they do not have a big advantage.
However, through rollinmg the dice for successes/fails the players can still use Clue Tokens for defense, and the effects of a Curse or a Blessing still work, too.
I don't know why.. but lately I have been looking at food in a whole new light.
