Texas style. No, wait. California style in Texas. Dad learning how to cook an amazing breakfast from son-in-law. He seemed so interested in this new idea of actualy using a stove to cook! Many questions were asked and he had a very patient teacher. I was completely shocked to see him in the kitchen, I just HAD to document this momentous event. But then I got distracted by something shiny.

We are excited to continue what was a very successful Culinary event last month, in September 2009! Announcing our monthly hands-on gourmet cooking classes at Aquatera's professional kitchen studio as part of our new partnership with Big City Chefs. Big City Chefs are leaders in private cooking classes and will be continuing this monthly program!

 

These culinary classes are held on the last Wednesday of every month taught by fun and engaging Chef Michael Hampton. You will learn how to make everything from sushi and steak to Asian and south-of-the-Border cuisine. We would like Aquatera residents to enjoy this opportunity first and so are limiting guests to one per registered attendee. These classes fill up very quickly and space is limited (maximum 25 people to maintain an interactive environment) so RSVP as soon as you receive your email invitation from us!

My wife was working so I made a couple of egg sandwiches for supper tonight.

Amaranth does this beautiful bubbly thing that is impossible to capture in a still photo while it's cooking. It looks like lava.

Two flashes... One flash bouncing of ceiling the power set to 1/4 and zoom 24mm. The other flash was on my left placed on table with paper in front, the power set to 1/8 zoom 24mm.

In Pjs (still) whilst cooking lunch and snapped by the children - herein lies the reason I should always wear a bra!

It’s Sunday today and therefore time for some Photoshop. The photo needed only a little post proceeding. Besides from the normal exposure fiddling I fixed the steam so it rose in a nice triangle and then I sharpened it a little.

Currently 13 kids live with the Sath family to have a safe and healthy home. They also help out with chores around the house including cooking.

Ingredients: 4 x Egg yolks, flour, milk, water, sugar, children's suncream, Pelforth beer.

 

Actually, spouting "waste not, want not" type expressions, I took the left over egg whites and attempted to do some Swiss meringues with m., but they simply would not stiffen when beaten. I later discovered the eggs were not our own freshly laid, but rather ones friends had left in our fridge. I tried cooking them anyway (sporting more "waste not, want not" type expressions) but they simply sat there and burned. Normally all our non-meaty food waste goes to our hens, but this time, no doubt sensing insult, even they refused to eat the scrapings from the baking sheets.

My previous cooking venture of some bean and ground pork chili turned out bland, so I decided to make into Chilli Mac, doing it form scratch form a recipe in epicurious. Much better.

Jens Vestergaard has published his cook book Bistro and celebrated this by a reception in Restaurant Melée, Frederiksberg. Fantastic snacks and a fabulous - yet to be bottled - Garrigue 2006 (by Etienne Montes - compagniet.dk/vis_vin_oversigt.asp?prodid=9&side=10) in a gigantic barrel. Cook book is highly recommended and contains also superb photos by Anders Hviid ( www.hviidphotography.dk ) And by the way Anders - thanks for inspiration for these photos.. Still a way to go but a lot of fun to do :-)

I still have some finishing work to do. I was really excited to get back to carving after a meeting with the owners of the venue art gallery.

These with the electric range, sink, refrigerator and general cooking equipment for the collective use of the class, make the laboratory equal to any demand which may be made upon it." (SGSNC Bulletin, 1914-1915, p. 40). The total spent the first year for equipping the sewing room, cooking lab, and model dining room was $535.40. The desk above with gas fixtures cost $130.00.
