We have been on a cooking rampage this afternoon.
I have split pea soup simmering for hours on the stove, baked two banana breads, fired up the bread maker for bread to go with the soup, and then we had an excess of basil we needed to do something with - I was prepared to make pesto and the hubby ended up doing that. I actually haven't eaten it yet, but will this week.
We are people who love summer. But, we do love cooking in the winter, so maybe we are just getting ready for all of those rainy days...There is just something so comforting about a house that smells like homemade comfort food.
My son made the scones with chocolates and cranberries. He should have cooked something and made a report for his homework.
