Last evening's dinner cooking:
Shrimp sauteed in extra virgin olive oil, three cloves of minced garlic, Italian seasonings, salt and ground pepper corns.
Sliced onion, yellow bell pepper, organic tomato, and fresh parsley sauteed separately then added to the cooked shrimp.
Steamed zucchini and yellow squash.
My pasta seen cooking over the flame was bow tie, tomato-spinach macaroni, and some Garofalo organic macaroni... all with lots of pesto!

she is cooking bakmi rebus (traditional noodles). The noodles is cook with egg, chicken, vegetables on a burn charcoal. This restaurant is located +- 25 km from town. It is on a small village, but people from town keep coming. The board on left said that it is "Mbah Mo Noodle restaurant, we dont have any other restaurants but here".

Orange juice, butter and sugar enrobe tender slices of apple to form a delicious topping for my whole wheat apple upside-down cake! Flaxseed adds to the wholesomeness of the batter, while buttermilk and cream cheese makes it tender and super rich!

Making Waffles!
One of my 7 year old twins loves to be "Little Chef". Ever since the movie, "Ratatouille", we have owned this apron and chef's hat that came with the dvd we purchased. On Saturdays and Sundays, Aidan always wants to be "Little Chef" and help us in the kitchen. Today was "Super Bowl Sunday", and the most glorious, sunny and brilliant day in the Bay Area in a while. Everyone was out in DROVES! It was amazing. My Little Chef helped make waffles today, while his Dad went on a planned, "secret" 4 hour hike to see waterfalls with 2 of his co-workers, leaving me home with the kids. So... we had fun, making waffles and going on our own hike at Loma Alta after our yummy breakfast.
There is a lot to say about this photo: How amazing it was in this remote Lahu village, to experience the "otherness", being different. This photo, I guess, is more about the amazing food they cooked us, on an open fire in a hutt entirely made out of dry bamboo from the floor to the roof.

My mother in law in tanauan batangas is cooking "Suman" (Filipino rice cake) in this huge pot (kaldero) for Christmas. To conserve gas they just use firewoods and cook it outside.
stubbs bbq sauce on tofu.. with mayo-free potato salad and grilled corn.. typical bbq fare minus the meat :)
This is me on my wedding day. I am cooking something that appears to be pretty sloppy. This was my wedding ensemble- my tshirt said BRIDE on it in big block letters.

I saw many solar dishes in Nepal, mostly in remote areas, outside the reach of electricity which is generally unreliable. The only time I looked inside the cooking-pot, the water was boiling at high intensity.
